Can't hear players in game chat on XBX

This has been happening for a while now - I have a Microsoft Wireless Headset and cannot hear anyone in my fireteam. Because I have crossplay enabled, game chat is the only voice option for me to communicate with players on different platforms. Apparently they can hear me, but I can't hear them. I see their voice prompts show up onscreen whenever they speak, but no matter what I do with my console/headset settings I cannot hear them. I thought this might be a headset issue but today I purchased a pair of Astro A20s and the issue still persists. Is this a known issue with cross play and game chat compatibility for Xbox users? I've tried pretty much every solution I could find online and nothing is helping. I've even reached out to Microsoft multiple times with no success following their suggestions. Anyone experiencing this issue and have you been able to remedy it? This was not an issue with my prior Xbox One.

  • I noticed this issue about a month ago when I joined a bigger clan. Figured it out when playing with a PS5 player, and I’m on a Series S. Always used Xbox party chat before, so I’m not aware as to when this issue actually occurred. Thinking I may need to redownload the game or give my Xbox a factory reset. I’ll let you know if I do give either of those a try and how it works.
