Obviously the community is divided in this game, especially when you put the PvP mains and the PvE mains together. Trials is by far the most severe case of this, and the players are at each other's throats. One side says trials is the "pinnacle PvP experience and should be brutally hard to compete". While the other says "It's endgame PvP but should still feel engaging and achievable for most people, since it's still a game and should be more fun than painful".
Now, both are correct. But they can't coexist. One has to become the true essence of the mode. Is it meant to be exclusive for top tier players? Or is it meant to be accessible and fun?
Bungie, you owe the community an answer to this dilemma. Because the players on both sides are not competent enough to come together and accept each others views and experiences. YOU need to tell us what YOU expect from the game mode and end this player conflict for good, and then commit to designing the best experience for THAT style of mode. This middle ground BS has gone on long enough.
I don't have all the answers. I don't know which is the best direction to go. But Bungie, you need take a firm stance on this.
*Before people get hating on me. I know I'm garbage at PvP. I work overtime every week and no, I don't want to spend my time on destiny having to "git gud" by training in crucible for an additional 20+ hours a week for a single mode. But I DO want to get some of the loot and rewards (which is almost always given the best designs). In addition, there's no PvE equivalent for things like the glow. I don't understand why there is no cool glow, aura, or crown designs for raids and dungeons (at least masters) like we had in the past.
Either way. Bungie, you need to make a choice. And soon. This game is feeling extremely tedious and underwhelming lately. The fun feels like it's fading from your content, which is a bummer.

31 RepliesThe problem is that from a fundamental standpoint Trials isn’t competitive and it’s made to feed average players to top percent sweats. It’s 100% designed to be like this, that’s why that formula hasnt really changed since the mode came out in D1. If you’re an average player, it’s a game of slots. If you’re a top percent player, trials is a straight up all you can eat buffet. That’s why they cry so much whenever anyone asks for changes to the mode. They don’t want easy street to go away, since the only way Trials can exist as it does is if it’s inherently an unfair game mode.
