Anyone else notice how we keep getting like a single legacy exotic catalyst each season? Can we speed that up at all? Jotünn was this season’s exotic catalysts but why we can’t have more I don’t know.
Last word, thorn, malfeasance, chaperone, wish ender, cloud strike, anarchy, divinity, devils ruin, terrabah, eyes of tomorrow, thousand voices, thunderlord, truth, two tailed fox, the queens breaker, salvations grip, and xenophage
That’s a lot of exotics that still don’t have a catalyst
lament, bastion, collective obligation, and probably a few more still
To pull from a comment I made not long ago:
They're not going to release their catalysts any time soon. The release of the Thorn themed armor with the 30th anniversary was a perfect time for the Thorn catalyst, but it didn't get one. Wish Ender or 1K in season 15. 1K can actually be viewed on destiny tracker or light.gg Malfeasance with the Gambit overhaul. Its catalyst has only been in the database since season 4, but apparently +18 range and a perk that's useless to anything that doesn't die to the explosions is too OP for them to balance out after THIRTEEN SEASONS. Queenbreaker or Anarchy during season 14. Last Word after season 7 when the stories of it, Thorn, and Lumina were basically wrapped up. It, like Malfeasance, has had its catalyst in the database since season 4. Tarrabah or Xeno this season. As I said, they're not going to. Almost all the pre-existing weapons getting catalysts since season 8 were all weapons that didn't need/ deserve them for one reason or another, or weapons no one used. Lumina got one 3 seasons after release, how often do you see it? Lord of Wolves got one literally one season after it terrorized crucible for a month and a half as if it were a burst fire sniper. Leviathan's Breath got one mid-season like a year after release but Wish Ender's still waiting since season 4. Wavesplitter should've had one on launch since its full potential was dependent on Orbs, which only masterworked weapons could drop, but it still doesn't have one 13 seasons later even after the orb changes. The next weapon to get a catalyst will probably be another no one uses, nor will they use any more after release. I mean seriously, how much more use has Leviathan gotten since its catalyst dropped? Traveler's Chosen? Heir Apparent after they fixed the damn shield bug after a season and a half? Jotunn is only as high right now because of people trying/ progressing the catalyst. Give it a month or so and it won't even be in the top 60. Just watch, the next weapon to get a catalyst will either be a useless weapon like Salvation's Grip (and it had better be more of a game changer than Trinity Ghouls in that case), a weapon that doesn't need/ deserve it like Truth since once Gjally gets nerfed all those invaders will just switch back to it, Xeno, or 1K instead, or Bastion, which almost no one uses since they took away a chunk of its damage.
