Can you Bungie please explain to all of us.
How or why do you (Bungie) think that your PvP matchmaking is fine the way it is?
Because I think a lot of people think it's absolute trash.

Streamers don't want to sweat. Their chill matches come at your expense. These so called Social influencers can't even get a few thousand on a stream. No one wants to see them beat up noobs 3-1. Quite a pathetic bunch really.

1 ReplyI used to be mad, cause as a new player I was constantly playing against guys with 3+kd. One guy even had 5.45kd on his emblem. Here I am with 50 kills in Crucible supposed to do sth against guys with 3 million kills in Crucie. Truly insane. Then I realised one thing - Bungie can't do anyhting about it if the queue times are to remain short. They just have that as a priority and don't give a damn about anything else. So I stopped playing pvp altogether. It's just not fair and never will be in this state.

1 ReplyPvP isn’t trash exactly… I think that everyone wants Destiny to be or go Esports. 😩 it’s annoying asf Bungie is creating their Esports game in the form of a Steampunk Paintball game… The PvP community needs to stop complaining. You’ll get your sweat fest soon enough. Bungie right now is focused on keeping a skeleton crew on Destiny and a more major focus on getting your Esports sweat fest of a game going. I expect the next games event they’ll reveal a teaser trailer for you all. Destiny is primarily focused on fun. It’s not sweaty. Even Trials and Comp are just sweaty fun. Not sweaty competition so much.

2 RepliesThey don’t care about 90% of their costumers. For them it’s important that streamers can make some cool compilations and stomp casuals trying to get a couple of wins in Trials or maybe go legend for the first time.

I AIN'T WON A MATCH IN TRAILS SINCE LAST WEEK. I've literally lost ever match I played this week NO WINS. 0, NADA, my quest card still empty

It's skilled based matching in comp and card based in Trials. 6s is connection based. But that's just a practice mode 🤷🏻♂️

It is unlikely they will be able to improve matchmaking without dedicated servers or at least region lock. And they won't do it. And they won't get rid of crossplay, which made matchmaking even worse. Lag is here to stay, nothing will be done about it.

I personally liked matchmaking more in D1. There were close matches and I rarely mercies. But I did notice that none of my lower skilled friends wanted to play with me because they would get smoked because it would still match make based off highest skill. So that was a negative part of sbmm. This seems to resolve that but wow it just doesn’t work.

21 RepliesMaybe after years of players complaining about wanting skill based matchmaking then as soon as Bungie brings it in everyone starts kicking off wanting connection based matchmaking instead. Years of switching between the two has got to start to annoy Bungie staff.

Im just curious if i am able to join games at the beginning any more. Or am i just gonna load into lopsided matches just in time for the opponents to cycle through supers or ape my in a three to 4 man until a mercy? Thats lots of fun and a great experience.

2 RepliesIf I’m being honest this may be the first weekend that trials has been kinda skilled or group based from what I can see. I’ve only had a few two stacks and the rest being three stacks, with only one match with a few blueberries. So far the matches have been kinda close as well so I’m not sure if Bungie had a change implemented or if it’s just a sweaty weekend. I guess time will tell.

4 RepliesPvPers gunna bleat and moan no matter what type of match making Bungo incorporate. There's no win win situation, and I can't understand why people ever think there is. No matter the change some clown will lose his marbles and say it's garbage and that it's all Bungos fault, which of course it is, because it's their game. Y'all can moan as much as ya want, it'll never be anything more than what it already is, a crap show with terrible connections and stupidly lopsided match making, either CBMM or SBMM.

same thing as gambit, bungie are good at making pve content, and thats where they put all of their eggs, while pretending gambit and pvp doesnt exist
