I enjoy the campaign missions for their story telling and some introduction to new loot, but locking activities, landing zones, vendors etc. behind their completion is forcing us to complete the same thing 3 times just to unlock the game on alts.
Items currently locked if you do not run Witch Queen campaign:
Throne world Patrol including Fynch access
Wellspring
Enclave for shaping and reshaping
Please consider making future campaign missions optional on alts once completed at least once.

I kind of agree, but I don’t think it’s experience breaking. More of a time issue. It’s not like the campaigns are all that hard. You don’t have to play WQ in Legendary in every character just to have access to everything. Just run through it in normal. If you don’t want to spend the 4 hours or so doing it in one session, just knock out a little bit every so often.

Edited by Wanderer: 7/1/2022 9:39:51 PMI wish the game didn't force cutscenes and missions on characters I rarely ever play. I log into a character to grab something from Xur and have to skip cutscenes and get plopped into leviathan. I didn't log in to do any of that. skip, skip, skip, open director, go to orbit, go to xur, log out.

Simple solution don’t create too many characters only stick to one
-
Y'all lazy lol.
-
They are optional lol. You don't have to do the campaign and you still have access to some things. If you want access to all things, use the key aka the campaign. If you have time to maintain 3 characters, you have time to run the campaign.
-
Nah keep it , my 3rd character gets a giant light level bump . Less work on light level just doing story missons.
-
forcing us to complete the same thing 3 times
That is all Bungie cares about. Played time. They just need us to bump their "played hours" and "concurrent player" bar charts higher. And give them money. But that's it.
-
Remember in year 1 you had to do the story on all three characters to even unlock the planets? Did they not learn from the years we don't like this?
-
Tell me about it. I STILL haven't done the BL campaign on my hunter & titan lol
-
Agree, with option to do it again for a reason
-
That's one of the reasons I deleted my other characters when beyond light came out. I only have one character now.
-
Yeah it's so annoying listening to all the dialogue 3 times. Should be account legacy.
-
Literally would be one of the best QoL changes
-
I agree with you a long overdue feature.
-
Place an optional choice to do it or skip(catching you up storywise to your ‘main’). Catching up your light level will be on you for the where, when, and how. Players love choice.
-
But then how will they get more hours logged in out of you?
-
Guardian,Archon Of Light
Blade Of The Traveler - old
The campaign drops loot that your alts can also take advantage of,like getting a different roll on a weapon , or high power armor to help them catch up to your main Making everything account based would remove that loot -
What they need to do is not have me redoing the dam campaign again on another character. Let the progress be saved across all characters.
-
I just recently finished SHadowkeep on my 2 alts, and pretty sure my Warlock still has Beyond Light stuff. F-k all that, aint got time for it.
-
Running it once.. yeah it’s okay, running it twice…meh, running it third time… be nice if it was optional.
-
Since the beginning
-
You'll have to run those missions 3 times and like it! I nearly cried the 3rd time.. really.
-
1,000 Silver to skip the campaign on one character and unlock everything as though you completed the campaign on that character.
-
-
This was one of the first seasons where I ran the seasonal missions on all 3 toons but thats just so I could not be in the castellum bashing my brains in trying to get loot I want. It's sad that doing the story a 3rd time is my escape from the grind. This is a whole other topic I can go on about but overall yea I do the story on my main and not even touch the story on my others most of the time.

It's the same Guardian, he just has 3 side hustles on top of his FT job at the Ramen noodle shop
