Is a New Class/Race Even possible? Is it Worth the time and money Bungie would spend?
The answer Might Surprise you!
Destiny fans who’ve trawled through the Grimoire cards in the original Destiny have found hints that pave the way for a fourth class. Fan-favourite NPC Guardian Cayde-6 had already encountered a Fallen (Eliksni) Vandal who helped him defeat a horde of Hive. There’s also the reality that Queen Mara Sov has Fallen bodyguards, which seems to tease that Eliksni are more than just a villainous race in Destiny.
and with The new DLC's in Destiny 2 we realized exactly that now with the Cabal on our side it's going to be a wild ride. as you know Destiny 2 has used a Lot of Code from Destiny 1 a good example of this is Bringing back the Cosmodrome in all its Buggy and Awesome Glory So why not do it again? Destiny 1 had a few subclass abilities Destiny 2 doesn't a good example would be the Warlock in Destiny 1 Could self res so why not use that and change the character model?! With the Recent Expansion's Crazy Ending where we find out that Savathun was Resurrected as a Guardian By the Traveler! It's no surprise That Fallen and Cabal could have the same thing done now that they're allied with the Last City.
As a player Myself The hype for the recent expansion lasted about a month and then many of us just stopped playing. Don't get me wrong it was Amazing and I Loved every minute of it, but it didn't last long a new class would definitely keep many of us interested wondering what could happen and what is to come!
The cool thing about the prospect of a new Fallen-based Guardian class is it presents the opportunity for new gameplay mechanics. Fallen do, after all, have four arms, which opens up the doors to dual-wielding two-handed weapons. Given that the Traveller’s modus operandi, to date, is to revive (dead) Guardians, and there are new planets in Destiny 2, it’s certainly possible a new Guardian archetype, Fallen or otherwise, could be resurrected for Destiny 2's Upcoming Expansions/Seasons.

Yes, and no. Another class simply isn't feasible for Destiny 2 quite frankly. When the light and darkness saga is over and they (potentially, hopefully) make a destiny 3 or a D2 equivalent of D3? Maybe. The next couple years? No. Game basically has to be entirely new to support a new class. It would also be a massive undertaking i don't see them doing in a normal expansion. They would need to create all 3 light subclasses and however many darkness subclasses are for that one class, which would most likely take away A TON of resources from other classes. The scope for an expansion would have to be absolutely behemoth-like to even think about adding a new class. (Hence, a new game) A new playable race? Again, yes and no. A new playable race would absolutely NEED to be somewhat humanoid. Of the current races in Destiny, only some certain enemies/now allies work. Psions, acolytes, thrall, and dregs. None of which really interest me all that much? Not to mention other issues. Hitboxes are huge in FPS games and non humanoid players create a big problem with that. Even the things I just listed, would need to be adjusted to have the same hitbox as other players. You can't really have a 4 armed captain (besides the fact they're big) because do those extra two arms become part of their hitbox? Are you going to have them always folded inward so they're part of the chests hitbox? Are they just not going to be shootable at all? Are you going to take the hero shooter approach where a bigger hitbox means more health? That would break pve. Not to mention, the way you describe your wishes here sounds like you want fallen to have unique abilities with multiple arms and stuff, but, that isn't the case for exos, humans, or the awoken. Why give a new race special treatment? So no, i don't think with the way destiny is built that any of this would work. Maybe if they built a new game from scratch, but not in d2. There's also more honestly they should do to help the current races/classes along with customization first.
