I'm not a big lore buff, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but wouldn't that go against the lore?
Trials of Osiris is about showing you are the best of the best. It's about shining brightest and getting through the ordeal without flaw. It's a mode to put everything you have to the test and show what you have.
Iron Banner is more like a learning experience. It's a mode to train and hone what you have, to make you stronger and more powerful. You are meant to have losses with your wins. There is more learning experience in losing.
Iron Banner is not about climbing to the top like Trials. It's not there for you to prove anything, just to learn and get stronger, like the Crucible, but more serious.

Saladin makes fun of shaxx for running the crucible in the exact way you just described the IB, the IB is to test your medal and prove your strength. Not slap happy run around for 2 hours until you can collect a charity pinnacle

Yeah, you might be right. Like I said, I'm not a big lore buff. However, I still think that a "flawless" IB run is a bit off from the flavor of the game mode. Perhaps a sorta "feats of strength" system? Like, a new random, repeatable bounty you can buy that is very difficult to pull off that rewards an adept weapon? Should be read as hard, not long. Please don't include stuff like "kill 1,000 guardians" or "play 50 matches" as one. More like "get ~15 kills without dying" or "kill ~5 guardians in a single life using only melee (glaives/swords excluded)"

If you read my entire original post that is literally what i said

Ah, I can see it now. I had to reread it. The way you said it makes it seem very close to Trials' cards, rather than certain objectives. That's what tripped me up.
