Rarely do I see "normal," guns used in PVP.
Like I'm usually an AR or Pulse guy, but I find myself at times switching to shotty/fusions and a decent HC just to get kills.
Kinda stale and expected.
Just want to see a variety of combos from a whole team and not go "Yup shotty, yup FR, yup Pistol."

2 RepliesAll weapons are bad because someone has been beaten by someone else using them at one point or another. In older games where you had static loadouts, there were people who would complain about being killed by the jerk on the other team who got the sniper rifle, or the jerk on their own team who betrayed them to acquire the sniper rifle.... Nothing ever changes. Use the weapons you want. They are all valid and available. If you can't beat 'em, beat them at their own game. If you can't or won't do that, then PvP is not for you.

You can literally use any type of gun and it’ll smack harder then will smith. Just gotta be in the right archetype. Certain rpm’s just ain’t the strongest.

Fusions and Snipers aren't so bad. But the others are passed being old.

It’s not something to complain about. 6 RepliesHand cannon and shotgun have always been the mera since d1 days, AR will never ever have a decent buff in pvp because they tried it couple of years back, the buff lasted 4 weeks because the hunter meta was crying they where getting outshone by AR so no, it will never happen again

There's plenty of pulse rifles that can you use to counter the meta right now: piece of mind (overflow w/ elemental capacitor or focused fury), Vigilance Wing, The Messenger, Legal Action, Outbreak Perfected in the right circumstances, etc. As for the shotgun problem i mostly blame the maps themselves for how they're designed. They encourage a shotgun using play-style cause of how close quarters most of the maps are. There's two two or three maps i can think in the current sandbox that allow you to use snipers freely without fear of getting abused by shotguns.

The crucible needs a bit for work for sure. I'm hoping in the next seasons that they mentioned it gets looked at... a lot. I think people don't really grasp what balance is. Generally speaking as far as this game is concerned, it's issues tie to range and ease of use. On the other side it's what bungie whats the game to end up being with the communities idea of fun. HCs are fun to use with a lot of forgiveness at range but sense dictates something with iron sights and that much kick back isn't exactly a precision weapon. FRs don't require precision and with the map design and movement in this game, well let's just say charge time doesn't necessarily equal skill. The other player has to work way more to play out of their range or make them waste shots because it covers most ranges in this game for less work. That just sounds like a heavy slotted weapon to me. As for shotguns the range with pellet spread isn't really isn't disagreeable. More often then not it's the slide movement in this game that ties with it. Players can really cover a lot of ground slide into your dm's and your done on top of that in the same motion they are already scooping up your ammo. Personally I think there should be a full second between slides and a lil less accuracy while sliding. Bows are a hybrid weapon. Le monarque is pretty much a special weapon with infinite ammo. The only way I can see it balanced without absolutely ruining it is, longer stow time IF HCs don't get a range nerf and or slightly longer draw time but with a slight buff to damage on pve targets. Snipers should get less visible flinch depending on range and gun type used against them but also less bullet magnetism. To me that's logical but to a lot of the community that's not considered "fun" even though they are getting hit with the same toxic weapons and narrowing down 100s of weapons for the sake of a hand full.
