From March 17, i’ve been getting “baboon” over and over, as well as “contacting destiny 2 servers.” Tested internet connection, everything is good. Troubleshooted every possible thing on my end but no improvement. Anyone else experiencing this? Bungie plz help!
UPDATE 3/20/2022: using a vpn does seem to work to get back into the game. But without a vpn, i cannot get into anything whatsoever. I am also on telus fibre like a few people have also mentioned, but friend of mine with a different provider also had similar connection issues. Also located in BC.
Seems like something’s up with the BC/West Coast region being unable to connect to bungie servers since all of us have no issue with our internet outside of trying to access D2~
UPDATE 3/22/2022: still can’t get into the game. Can’t even make it to character select without getting ‘baboon’ ‘weasel’ or ‘centipede’. Seeing a lot more chatter about this on reddit and twitter though, so im hoping soon bungie will look into this :(
UPDATE 3/23/2022: game seems to be working ok now

And again, using a VPN seems to resolve his issues. So it seems like it is a Telus issue possibly. It looks like most of the people in this forum are using Telus (or one of their subsidiaries). This may be a wider issue involving Telus's network. Any ideas would be great, because I honestly don't know where to start with getting a hold of Telus. I assume phoning them will only go as far as getting in contact with a tech rep whose basic instructions are to tell you to restart your router.
