It is missing components like scopes and ability to pick your frame and design for me to take much interest in it. I mean l like the idea but it is lacking in the creation or crafting department. I honestly thought we were going to be able to choose a design, frame and level up the weapon to gain access to the magazine, scopes, barrels and perk options. The cost for the amount of effort put into the overall concept is far too expensive.

This is a prime example of something looking good in a video and maybe on paper but when you get to use it, it misses the mark. I mean like I said the concept is there but it definitely could have hit all the components that make a weapon a weapon.

  • I would say more, but think you said what I was looking forward to and thinking. I do like the idea of it in destiny 2, but don’t like the set of it so far.

  • Please add more. There are things I feel I am missing when expressing concerns.

  • In other games, at least in my experience, with lots of customization options for weapons, it seems like it’s more of a fun idea and less grinding. Everything about the crafting and customization is a smoother transition then what D2 seems to at the moment. You likely “unlock” a weapon, parts or blueprint for a weapon just by doing the normal missions or story of the game. You go raid a “enemy base” or whatever the mission is and you probably find a loot chest that has any of the above in it. There might even be an in game store you can pay to get parts, weapons or blueprints from with in game money or resources. Then once you have access to a part, say a scope you can apply it to any gun it fits on. Also anytime you want to change out parts you don’t have to pay in materials each time. This just seems like you get a gun with the red-outline, have to grind to unlock the special abilities or materials needed to craft. Then continue to lv the gun up or grind a bunch to have a chance at finding a blueprint before you can even craft the gun. Let a lone the material caps as other have pointed out. In all I do like what you and others have said. It would be cool to have a couple options in all areas of crafting. Body of the gun, parts or perks you add to it and so on. Hopefully that add to the topic, basically the outlined ideas you talked about was what I had in mind of how crafting should be.

You hit the nail on the coffin. We are on the same wavelength for sure. Your thoughts are exactly how I am thinking weapon crafting should have worked. All they should have done is gave you access to the design and let the missions and quests provide the rest of the blueprints. Blueprints being the magazine, scopes, perks, frame and mods. Anytime you would do a mission, a quest, special event or end game activity the rewards for completion would be these blueprints and any higher level difficulty content would provide more enhanced versions of these or add bonuses to them. I mean the information is there with how White Weapons look in comparison to Green, Blue, Legendary and Exotics. Could have easily started our weapons as white weapons and worked our way up to legendary.
