I mean I still just farm for weapons… haven’t touched crafting since the exotic glaive mission… crafting is horrible..
The resource caps are ridiculous, also when you craft a weapon it has horrible rolls.. this game requires you to have specific rolls to compete and no one is really gonna rank up a weapon to level 15 at the moment…
Well that’s my rant…

Use wish wall and farm Shuro chi to level your weapons. 15 minutes tops to unlock all of a gun's perks. 🤷♂️

crafting is stupid

Here!

For legendary weapons I’m fine with, but for exotics I’m not fine with.
-
2 RepliesIt's bad now but after a few seasons with a couple of good weapon added it might be worth it.
-
Lol this guys have never played a real mmo before that has a hardcore grind and it shows
-
Got a AR level 62 :)
-
Idk, i crafted a shotgun with Subsistence/Tresh. Even fully stock, it's pretty nice.
-
Maybe if they put more than one or 2 weapons in there worth a damn then sure. As it stands there are only 3 craftable weapons worth a damn. The 540RPM pulse, the rapid fire fuision and the stasis rocket. All others are just a waste of time
-
2 RepliesI’ve done the Exotic SMG, my glaive and the weapons for quests. I’m stock piling my mats so I can craft the new raid weapons.

Edited by The Desire Sensor: 3/16/2022 8:13:07 PMI like the Kinetic Bow which has replaced Whispering Slab for me and the Kinetic SMG is fun D2 needs more "Chill" activities when people aren't on the forums complaining all the time Which is why I'm very thankful I'm not addicted to D2 like a good portion of people are
-
I don’t care about it. Someone must have wanted it.
-
Ignoring the caps, limited weapons etc your point about the leveling is the most real. I don’t want to have to run terrible perks just to unlock the perks that are actually useful
-
I'll probably get sh*t for this but Fallout 76 has a simple, rewarding Legendary Crafting system. Public Events and Daily Ops reward Legendary Cores so there's a lot to get from many sources. The unwanted Legendaries you get you just Scrip and spend the Scrip on Legendary Modules. Yeah, there's one extra step in there with the Scrip-to-Modules but that's really it. Just playing the game as normal rewards you with drops that you may keep to either use or sell to other players, scrip to spend on modules and you're almost always getting the cores. Don't have to go out of your way for anything. Just play the game. Then, you can roll and re-roll your weapons and armors until you get what you want on it. And, sometime this year, we're getting 4-Star Legendaries and crafting so there will be even more options. Legendaries in 76 are like Exotics in D2; however, I can have every weapon I use and armor I'm wearing have those special perks instead of just one weapon and one armor. I've said it before and I'll say it again, 76 is far from perfect but at least I can actually build my character my way and be effective anywhere instead of having to do one or two specific builds to be effective like in D2.
-
Some Weapons I do, others I don’t give a flying fish monger about. I unlock the plans, see what roll I could farm for and decide from there. Probably working on enhanced builds for about 12.5% of the weapons. 🤷🏼♂️ So about normal for what I look for from farming weapons previous seasons.

1 ReplyI do care, but I don't care. I have every non-raid template open and half of them to level 20. But, craft-able weapons do the same thing fixed perk weapons did in D2 vanilla. They make my 15th piece of mind have no extra value, the one I levelled up and put advanced perks on is still better no matter what. So I have no need to do Wellspring or Psiops. But on the other hand, I've spent stupid amounts of time trying to get a good roll on something. Double edged sword I guess.
-
Me. No time for this grind, rather just play the game and hope for drops.
-
i would love to care about it but still waiting on deepsight for weapons i want to craft but the abysmal drop rate ruins it

I've checked out on it. I'm getting the deepsight resonance done on a few weapons, just to top up my resources for later on. At this point I have no interest in crafting anything. The whole system is convoluted & overly complicated. A better system would have been to have it through Banshee. And like others have suggested: pick a weapon, select a frame, then choose scope, barrel, magazine type. Then select perks to apply. With minimal resource cost. That doesn't seem hard to make to me. Why bungie has to make some stupid grindy system, essentially attempting to reinvent the wheel is beyond me.

I agree. I think that additional levels to the crafted weapon should grant some sort of perk. Even if it is cosmetic. A glow, border or something. Otherwise you are right, most instances don't give enough incentive to level up. I was going to craft/level a palmyra but then got a roll with the light perk to pick up orbs negating the need for me to grind it out. The leveling and the perk selection should be mutually exclusive. Leveling should grant some additional incentive other than the base perk selection. I'm basically now just dismantling reds because my bank is full and I don't want to craft anything.

Mr Jim Laheyspecial weapons are for noobs - old
Me. The system is a mess. Bungie type work -
Yea haven’t bothered with it yet it’s pretty dumb the way it is now
-
I mean, I really like the idea. I'd rather grind red frames and actually eventually guarantee the roll I want, rather than do several hundred Reckoning runs and and never get a devent Spare Rations or turns in tens of thousands of IB tokens and never get a decent Gunnorah's Axe. My only complaints are the material caps and limited selection.
-
12 RepliesHuh. I've ranked multiple weapons to 20. I guess I'm the exception.
-
Yeah, most of the perk combos just made me stop messing with crafting. If its meant to keep PvE "PoWeR fAnTaSy" in check, I'll stick to my current Striga loadout. They can Alt+Delete the rest though (even the Exotic Glaive is trash).
