I mean I still just farm for weapons… haven’t touched crafting since the exotic glaive mission… crafting is horrible..
The resource caps are ridiculous, also when you craft a weapon it has horrible rolls.. this game requires you to have specific rolls to compete and no one is really gonna rank up a weapon to level 15 at the moment…
Well that’s my rant…

1 ReplyWeapon crafting in Destiny 2 just feels like an idea that a Bungie employee pitched in at the last second & the crew just went with it. Let's give it time. Either weapon crafting gets better, as seasons merge or it fails miserably & it becomes a lost confused idea, like Need For Speed: SRL.

-Can't change weapon elements -Still no weapon Transmog (I just want to turn all my Pulse Rifles into Redrix's Broadsword and all my Autorifles into Breakneck or the Braytech Winter Wolf) -Can't put Dragonfly on everything (I just want explosions on crit kills) Weapon Crafting was a great concept, but a janky execution, with a terrible material economy. -
4 RepliesI didnt even do the glaive mission when i heard it was a bogus gimmick weapon. On my hunter i have the legendary glaive and that's the only crafted weapon i use. I got the enhanced perks for free using the method they fixed. Drop rates are low for deepsight weapons still. And the method of crafting is too time consuming. I always have to make a separate trip of working deepsights in a lost sector because the weapons are either unusable with my build in higher content or rely on spec or heavy ammo which is a 50/50 roll on whether it drops as intended or not. Ten guns to make one enhanced perk, after the 5 you did to craft and the other missions to level up ..one gun you might not end up liking enough cost you a week, if you play all the time... Random roll farming is simply more efficient and rewarding.

I won't craft more than I need to. Enigma and Osteo Striga catalyst are all I've done so far. Anything else I crafted was for a quest. I'm content with random drops. New Borderlands comes out soon so my time in D2 definitely won't be spent grinding craftable weapons.

I remember how some were trying to pass it off as if Bungie was going to make this awesome system 😀

1 ReplyEdited by A KOOL POP TART: 3/16/2022 8:13:33 PMI've never used it outside of crafting the glaive.

Still waiting to unlock my first sidearm pattern.. but the weapon will never drop from activities. Its been two weeks. I'm just forgetting that crafting even exists at this point.

1 ReplyAs an 'endgame' pursuit, it really kind of falls flat. For one, it does not have a coolness factor for me. The UI is just a collections tab.. yawn.. Second, there's no real reason to craft anything that I can see. Third, when you do craft it, you then have to use the crappy role to unlock anything good..but then when you unlock the good stuff you realize...eh..you're probably bored of the same weapon and there was no real reason to grind all that. Sooooo, it's a meh from me.

I mean considering what some of the enhanced perks do I certainly do care about crafting. Enhanced demolitionist and enhanced adrenaline junkie for more grenade energy per kill and longer time on damage buff than normal is a pretty big deal. Enhanced surrounded outright gives more damage and the raid fusion can have that. Enhanced overflow goes past double the mag. The reward at the end is certainly worth the resources. I do agree the caps are crazy, the crafting prices themselves are more than fair, and then for leveling up like duh of course its going to have bad perks as you start out. You use it to give it better stuff. Only community I've ever seen complain about that in regards to building up a powerful piece of gear like that.

Edited by LikwiD_SmOkE22: 3/16/2022 10:18:29 PMIt's such a great concept but the execution is not great at all. I'd rather deal with the timegate crafting system that's in warframe.

I mean, I still have no idea what do I have to do to unlock patterns, I have very few of them, so far it has been extremely... Useless to me.

3 RepliesEdited by Codiak: 3/16/2022 5:02:41 PMBy far the worst crafting system I have ever seen in a game. It's incredibly punishing. Terrible RNG, terrible material caps, terrible exotic glaives, limited weapons, pay to unlock a perk and if you change it and change back you have to pay again. Utter morons running the show in regards to implementing a weapon crafting system. Not participating in any of it until its fixed.
-
1 ReplyMy issue is that it takes so long to level a special or heavy up
-
2 RepliesIt seemed like a great idea on paper. But I’ve yet to unlock a single weapon pattern worth crafting. And the resources for re-shaping are ridiculous.

Caps are ridiculous and there is way too limited a selection. -
They just need to add more if not all weapons to be craftable
-
2 RepliesCool idea, just implemented poorly

1 ReplyIt's way too restrictive to be useful. Typical Bungle micromanagement - "You can play any way you want, as long as it's our way". For example, why can I not specify if I want Arc, Solar, Void or Stasis variants? It's very heavy on Void and Stasis. Or what Frame type? Or a big list of perk options, not just a couple of perk attributes, but scopes, barrels, grips etc.
-
I care, but the arbitrary number of frames needed to craft weapons is kind of buzz kill. If they really feel like they need to drag out the process, just make it require that much more experience instead of relying on drops.
-
It's a cool idea. But is too costly and time consuming to be practical.

2 RepliesEdited by Sohsuh: 3/16/2022 9:46:54 PMI really liked crafting my Likely Suspect god roll as well as my Palmyra. I like the enhanced perks. I have 4 of the red border pulse rifles from the raid, so 1 more and I can craft my god roll on that. The foundation for crafting is good but they really need to work on it. Increase material caps and reduce the grind for leveling up a weapon. The grind isn't bad in a general sense, but when you are forced to use terrible rolls during that grind it just becomes horrible. Also, once you unlock a perk, you should be able to reshape it for free with the perks you have unlocked. But I do really like crafting my own rolls on these weapons. The question is, can we craft the Adept versions of the raid weapons? Only time will tell.

Edited by Corrick II: 3/16/2022 9:58:56 PMHopefully crafting will change and expand into something more attractive as the season progresses but as of right now, it’s a waste of time. It’s also another example of how bad Bungie is at explaining a new feature. I know you need guns with red outlines and some currency, but I have no idea how the system actually works. Worse, I have no real desire to find out.
-
It’s ok, I focus on the pulse rifles and shotgun
-
Idk seems ok to me. Sure you got to put work into it but if you use the gun then it isn't that bad...unless you're crafting a God roll weapon you don't plan on using...even with out the perks I want on some weapons I like the way it feels so I'll use it and over time I will be able to upgrade it. Reminds me a little of d1 with leveling guns :)
-
Same here TBH. Im still using my Mida and cantana. Not much worth grinding for this season.
-
Use wish wall and farm Shuro chi to level your weapons. 15 minutes tops to unlock all of a gun's perks. 🤷♂️
