Oh man, a raid where we have to think and use our brains. The boss should just stand there and let us dps the whole fight imo

Yes because it takes some serious critical thinking to match up similar symbols like you're in kindergarten. These "mechanics" of reading symbols and fighting a clock are 2 of the worst tropes in gaming. I have 4 clears of this raid, it's super easy, it just sucks...terribly. Especially the first encounter. Not to mention the obnoxiously long opening to get into the pyramid. We're not even through the second week of this raid and our clan is already just looking to do the boss to get the red weapon once from the chest and a chance at the exotic. Absolutely one of the worst if not the worst raid in either Destiny game.

Worst raid is Garden, nothing like frames dropping, Thethers not working, and motes clipping underground to ruin a final boss encounter. If not Garden, then Crown, because the first 2 encounters were boring just teaching you how the crystal works. I love Vow of the Disciple, but I would agree it wasn't innovative on the formula. Memorizing symbols we had in Last Wish, and well, they reused every relic in the game. I'd like to see new mechanics like what Deep Stone did, but with the same complexity as Vow, and I think Vow is easy, but to a casual player I'd say it's intermediate level

Absolutely atrocious take imo. This raid feels more involved than most of the past raids aside from maybe LW and King’s Fall.

Do you have a good original raid mechanic?

exactly

Destiny 1, I’ll leave it there.

D1 raids had puzzles or "tasks" to do before starting DPS - so I don't get what you are referencing.
