Seems like the hunter one is worth using at least.
But yeah, for everyone else, genuinely feel bad for ya on that front. Feels like you really got screwed.

It’s worse than using a trinity ghoul or a wave frame. Not with the risk and limitations of using a glaive

My friend picked the hunter one as his first, and he said it is nothing like in the trailer. The trailer shows the hunter glaive doing some massive AoE damage, but in reality its nothing like that.

Its not worth being an exotic tough. It does nothing that you cant already do with something else. And if you want a glaive at all cost, just use a legendary one, so you can use a powerfull exotic heavy or even primary/special.
-
Not really since you could use a wave frame or trinity and get the same effect but cheaper

The new Arc waveframe GL from the raid is amazing. It can roll with chain reaction

It does however serve other purposes which neither of those weapon types do. The melee on a glaive uses no ammo, allowing for you to run double special and still have something capable of killing without using any of your limited ammo. The block on a glaive allows for strong defensive play and getting up rezzes, and the glaive projectile functions as a decent damage option against more powerful combatants. I like to think of the glaives as multi purpose tools. It's just that the hunter glaives extra purpose serves way more value than that of the titan or warlock glaive.

The issue is the projectile still takes 6 shots to essentially trade major killing and your shield for an ad clear shot that has issues clearing ads
