While I agree I like they give people a chance to experience the raid to help them be more comfortable in it, I disagree about it being for solo players. At this point, I think people use that as an excuse for why they don't things in the game. I say that because I'm a solo player and have done a good amount of raids, including being a sherpa.
It's easy to get a group together on lfg, just be honest. That goes for the lfg post starters to the ones looking for a group to join. If you're honest, most players will play with you. That's the part that makes it hard for people. Their egos won't let them be honest with others about what they know/ don't know in a raid. I'm speaking from experience.
Ex: there's been times I've joined lfg posts that said 'must have x amount of clears, kwtd, be whatever level, etc' cause I wanted to get a raid done quickly, and figured the person asking for those/ people joining would mean just that. Once we got in there though, I'd learn that the lfg starter poster wouldn't even meet the requirements, or people that joined wouldn't meet them. How I learn that? We'd get to an encounter, and once we started asking who wanted to do what, people would be quiet. Then when someone would take the lead and assign roles, people would pretend they knew what to do, until we failed a bunch, then would say they didn't know how to do something, smh. That's when people get pissed and leave cause time has been wasted cause you lied.
Ex of the opposite: joined groups with requirements and people were honest about what they knew/ didn't know. The rest of the group was cool with it, and had no problem teaching/ showing what to do. Why? Cause people were honest up front.
With that said, only create and/or join groups you meet the requirements.

This mission did not need a team. Easy to be accomplished solo. Much easier than any campaign mission on legendary.

Edited by Doom Random: 3/8/2022 2:47:02 AMWell you went off on a tangent, didn't ya.
-
Lol yea, I did. Didn't mean to.

Quick reminder that public internet is mostly trashy and a lot of people don't want them... Even this post is example, you can just simply pass or move on respecting solo players. Instead it started to blame them for 'not trying' and that they're 'lame'. Why can't people just respect others.
-
How am I not respecting solo players when I am one? Lol. I didn't call them lame nor placed blame, just stated it's easier to do things in the game as a solo player than people claim, since I am one.

I am honest, all it gets me is nastiness and being kicked or decline. Too much toxic vile poison to put up with fit a decade already. If I found actual kind people, I might run a few more raids, but I just want the collections unlocks and kind people are beyond rare. So…….remember, don’t let your self projecting experiences cloud the truth, that not everyone is like you or has had the same lucky experiences. Stay safe 👍🏻

Take your own advice: just cause you had bad experiences doesn't mean that's the truth of how it is. Anyway, sucks you ran into toxic players. Hopefully you don't in the future. There are kind players out there.

Oh I know there are, I just can’t find them lol 😂 Or they move on

Edited by Natdeguerre: 3/7/2022 11:45:14 PMYou’re missing the point. Some of us don’t want to commune with the general public on the internet while playing our game. It’s a choice sure and I gladly miss out on raid loot etc. It’s just a smart decision on Bungie’s part to reuse some of that beautiful art in a mission for a wider audience. If I had friends irl that played D2, I would raid. Alas I don’t, and no, lfg is no substitute. I don’t begrudge people having fun with raids, but I neither have the time or patience to put up with the general internet when it comes to com-heavy raid mechanics. So props on Bungie for giving a tour of their flagship design.
-
What you're saying is different than what op said. You are choosing not to raid, while op made it seem like he/ she couldn't do it cause of being a solo player.

A lot of us are somewhere between can’t and chose not to I think. I mean at some point it just becomes not worth the trouble. But fair enough.

Edited by WizardWolf: 3/7/2022 9:25:32 PMI have had really bad experiences with lfg, and it's frustrating when people do the wrong things, or get mad at me for being too slow or messing up. By myself, I can enjoy they experience at my own pace, and I can quit guilt free if I want. I also like to figure the things out on my own, and not have everyone just tell me what to do or expect me to watch videos on YouTube in advance. I agree with raids being designed for groups, but I do think think that they should have more of these simplistic raids for solo players. Its not that hard, they already have the mechanics in place, and the rewards can be worse than a regular raid.

Sucks you had bad experiences. Hopefully you have better ones in the future. I agree, I like what bungie did for the mission. My rant had nothing to do with that.
