I would actually love if Bungie did more missions like this that essentially "teach" you the raid mechanics.
Like this week it somewhat gets your feet wet with how the 1st encounter works.
It would be nice if in future missions you fought dumbed down version of the Caretaker and Rhkul so people will be more familiar with the raid mechanics and LFG would be less of a proverbial 💩 show.

Edited by KannibalKlown: 3/8/2022 5:13:02 AMThey kind of did that with the vault of glass in destiny 1. Only the single player mission came first. The mission took place inside the vault and went up through the first major encounter. Besides getting you used to the layout of the first room, they also introduced the oracles that could blink you out of existence. So by playing the campaign you were introduced to the first wtf mechanic of the raid. How the oracles worked and their locations. There was another strike or mission or something in the vault that showed you the area near the maze. But I forget if that was added in a dlc

The mission was released with House of Wolves, long after the Vault of Glass was released. It was the third mission in the dlc. You were right with what you said about going down into Templars Well and kill Oracles. [quote]There was another strike or mission or something in the vault that showed you the area near the maze. When it was the Daily Heroic Story Mission if you activated three hidden chests and got to the exit of the maze the warp point close to where the Gatekeeper encounter was would open up and took you to another area where you killed a Blighted Descendant. That was part of the No Time to Explain quest

I'm all on board with missions that show simple raid mechanics, but the raid bosses themselves should be unique to the raid experience with very few exceptions. I did really like the mission though, even if it was a bit repetitive for people that did it after just coming out of the raid for 12+ hours.

Honestly yes! Like they sort of did in Beyond Light with the front things but this is better!
