Raids could be built to be a series of tough strikes - playable one at a time or in tandem. The mechanics are garbage anyways- another rune call out? Please. That’s what’s holding up access to these things? More thought needs to go into the accessibility of these things. It’s too easy to just throw down a bunch of broken mechanics and n heave it up to the community to organize themselves and figure it out. It should be a massive six man strike - and it should incorporate mechanics that benefit individuals when done correctly instead of the group.

  • The main purpose of the raid is to have an activity which requires coordinated game play across the team. You can do the stuff you are asking for in a Dungeon which can be even soloed.

  • I play FF XIV as well as destiny and the raiding in both of these games is night and day. The bosses in the large group raids in FF are actual boss fights, where you avoid the attacks the boss launches out at you while keeping an eye out for mechanics that are fairly clear on what to do if you're paying attention. Meanwhile raiding in destiny, you better be talking constantly, sorting through the information from 1 team mate and giving it to 1 other while another group of 2 sorts another mechanic. All while the boss hovers in a corner occasionally popping shots at you and you take a step away to kill a few adds for ammo. The difference here is in FF, you're working as a team to actually FIGHT the boss. In Destiny, you're fighting a mechanic. And I couldn't be any less interested in fighting a mechanic instead of a boss.

  • Raids are supposed to be a part of the pve end game so of course they are going to require communication and call outs. If you want accessibility go do nfs or gms they dont require as much as raids. And if raids were seriously built like tandem strikes, do you that would keep people interested? The whole middle part of this really confuses me too. Why should they care about accessibility when the raids are designed to be the most difficult and engaging parts of the game. As for the puzzle solving and figuring out the raid is literally what captivates so many people and makes them want to do a raid in the first place. I dont get whats broken about calling out some symbols. If you want a 6-man strike you have something like wellspring. But this reply makes zero sense. Raid would be terrible if they were like you describe

Just because they’ve been done a certain way before it doesn’t mean it has to continue being done that way - most of the puzzles are plates and runes - what are we holding onto here? This idea that raids are the most difficult part of the game is just laughable. There is nothing difficult in any raid we actually have other than adds being harder to kill in contest mode… I think legendary story mode was probably the most engaging thing Bungie have done in a long time…proving that maybe the idea of traditional raids have run their course…

  • Imagine thinking running raids in a group means you're bad at the game. And furthermore, thinking that having a raid that requires callouts is designed for elitists only. That's really sad

This raid seems to be the one to change that. Also if you think legendary campaign would be more engaging than this raid then you must be ad clear on every raid you do. Its mechanics heavy as it should be for a raid. Absolutely this is one of the best raids we have ever gotten so far

Best raid we had was kings fall - because it was so engaging - and it resembles legendary campaigns more than any raid we have now - in fact what makes it so great is the narrative elements and context - not even the mechanics of it. We’ve got to stop thinking that in order for something to be difficult you have to communicate- that’s not the case at all. You can build these things any number of ways - it’s time we started thinking of new ways that raids can reach those that don’t want those elements in their end game activity. For too long Destiny has had the common cheese that if you run it with friends it’s dead easy - we see that in PvP and in raids - so how good are you when you have to figure it out by yourself? If you’ve convinced yourself that you’re good at this game because you have a group to play with I would see how this would turn you off. Fortunately you’re in the minority though.
