Exotic Drop Rates in Legend/Master Lost Sectors and the expanding loot pool

TL;DR, master lost sectors currently don't have RNG protection against duplicate drops of armor. With the ever expanding exotic loot pool in the coming expansion+seasons, lost sectors will become even less reliable as an end game target farm option. Suggested fixes would be to introduce exotic armor crafting or implementing RNG protection against duplicate drops to give targeted loot an increased chance of dropping. As I'm getting ready for the Witch Queen expansion and Void 3.0, I went into the master lost sector to try my luck at snatching a decently rolled Nezarec's sin. The lost sector was on the moon at Archers line, K1 Logistics, where I was averaging runs around the 4 minute mark with the right light level and build. After around 4 hours of farming, I ended my session with 60 runs and 21 exotics. 21 exotics is a fair haul indeed, especially for the difficulty of the content, but the chances to get the desired gear -let alone gear with good stats in the right places- leaves a lot to be desired. Currently amongst the warlock exotic helmets, there are 10 unique options to choose from. Taking a percentage using the numbers I got from my runs, one would have a 35% chance to acquire an exotic. This, multiplied by the shared chance of getting an exotic from the warlock helmet pool of 10%, leaves a player who's target farming a single exotic a 3.5% chance to get the desired exotic. A 3.5% chance would not be a bad percentage to start with if 3.5% was added to your chances of getting the exotic you want, as one would reach 100% chance would take around 28-29 tries, around 2 hours. However, this was not the case as I was collecting triples and one quintuple of duplicate armor. Out of the 21 exotics I have acquired, I got: - 5 Eye of another world - 3 Apothesis Veil - 3 Astrocyte Verse - 3 Felwinter's Helm - 3 Crown of Tempests - 2 Skull of Dire Ahamkara - 1 The Stag - 1 Verity's Brow Out of my 21 exotics, five of the ten warlock exotic helmets available made up around 80% of my exotic drops. This suggests that there is not any RNG protection against duplicate drops and lengthens the process of farming for a desired piece of exotic armor. Looking ahead, as we continue to expand the loot pool with new gear coming from the upcoming expansion and seasons, the drop chance for a single piece of loot will continue to shrink and lost sectors as a target farm will not make for a reasonable time investment. To address this problem, I would suggest two fixes. 1. Implement an exotic crafting system that uses duplicate exotic loot 2. Implement another level of RNG protection against duplicate loot The first one would allow players to select the lot they want after spending the time to acquire the necessary crafting materials, maybe being two exotic of the same armor type with an upgrade module and a glimmer cost. The second would work by modifying the current RNG protection in lost sectors by implementing an additive system that adds a certain percentage chance to all given loot that was not awarded to the player upon acquiring an exotic drop. For example, if a player went into a master lost sector and that player got an Astrocytes verse after x number of lost sector clears, all other exotics would receive an added percent chance for them to drop while the Astrocytes Verse gets reset to the original drop chance value.
