Unpopular opinion -OG Gaurdians Know

So for those of you that have been playing for 7-8 years since destiny 1 released, I'm a hunter that's followed solely as a hunter via Cayde since year one. I purchased every DLC as they released from d1 to destiny2 forsaken. I left when Cayden was killed for personal reason and complications in life. I was absent from the community for about a half a year to a year. Came back during this years dawning event. December 2021. Below is the topic of discussion from our return. Joining any crucible match was insane. I mean, we used to be on the leader boards back then. Now we are grinding up a new account on a replacement account. And it is the sweatiest experience I've ever experienced in the entirety of destiny as a whole. There was level 600 or so stomping out level 20s with absolute disregard for the new light's early game crucible quest line, there was such a sense of desperation to win that even as someone who solely played d2 in the later years for crucible, I didn't even want to return for the final two control matches shaxx was enforcing I partake in for the aforementioned quest line. Now here's the thing. If I felt that way as an experienced, enthusiastic, nay fantastic of destiny as a whole, can we just for a second think how the new inexperienced players are reacting to this? They are required to participate in crucible early game in odder to progress quest line and level. But I assume quiet a few are rarely to return after the quest is over. Do any of the older gaurdians from the beginning remember the unity that once made destiny, destiny? The unity that has seemingly evolved into a rampant toxicity? Or am I alone in this observation? Is there anything we can do about this as a community? I don't know about you guys but I don't want to see the same names on the "leaderboards" for ages because the new lights are scared to come back to the crucible and add some variety to the mix. With that said, Traveler, it feels good to be home. [spoiler]Moderator edit: This thread has been updated with tags that are more appropriate. • I know exactly what you're talking about, it might be a generational issue as well. Destiny players have always been snobs ie. requirements used to include Icebreaker or Gally..now they want you to run specific builds or have certain stats. LFG used to be the place to go but now those forums or apps are toxic as well. Masterworked weapons and armor builds that veteran players have give new or returning players a hard time, it's a huge advantage. LFG groups make it hard for new or returning players to improve their K/D or K/DA It took me about 4 months to get at least 1 PVP build and decent weapons but even now I can't use weapons that are fun or interesting because all anyone runs are shotguns and handcannons. It's boring and matchmaking sucks
