  • The only thing that has recently changed in the past few weeks is that I turned off windows game bar and windows game boost. The only reason I turned this off is that it changed my input and output chat mic on my go xlr as game bar had its only device settings. I have turned these two back on and ill report back. So far I have crashed every day I have played destiny

  • For me it started right after I switched my processor from a 2700X to a 5900X and changed out my ram from a trident Z 2x8gb 3200ghz to trident Z 2x8gb 4000ghz. As soon as I downloaded all the drivers for it and started playing destiny it started to happen

  • Further investigation - Removed 1080ti and placed into my second pc. I ran uniengine heaven benchmark i got kicked to desktop within 30 seconds of a benchmark on stock settings. This indicates there is a hardware level issue with the card. I opened up my card to inspect. I replaced the thermal pads 3-4 months ago during maintenance so this could be the cause. Upon inspection, the thermal pads are no longer tacky and are crumbly/solid and were torn in half just by removing the cooler. What could be happening is the thermal pads degraded within 3-4 months causing crashes in the game under strong gpu loads the VRAM could be overheating causing the crashes. I have ordered new thermal pads to test these otherwise my card is faulty and no longer useable. I have a 980ti spare that is working with Destiny so far and no longer crashing on the presage mission. Now, these are my problems and I doubt would be the same problem as you. I would suggest you run some stress level GPU benchmarks for a long time to see if it crashes if it does then you have an issue with your card 'POTENTIALLY'. I am not the diagnoser of your issues but I hope some of the above helps you.

  • I believe my gpu is at fault I reinstalled windows last night. My game crashed every time In presage. I swapped my gpu to my 980ti no crash. I guess my gpu is dead
