I've always hated how random it is on which item gets the pinnacle drop but its never been this much of a pain. I've done 8 pinnacle activities this week (all I have access to rn) and I need 1 more pinnacle (gauntlets) to reach 1330 without my artifact. NONE of these 8 drops were for my gauntlets. This is the second week this has happened now.
Destiny is such a grind as it is, it shouldn't be this way.
Why can't things be more prioritised to what we don't have at pinnacle level... its just inconvenient.

Because the design goal of the Milestone and Pinnacle systems was to throttle progression. The Milestone system was added to the game late in Y1 of Destiny 2, when Bungie realized they had made a gigantic mistake in Designing the game. With fixed weapon rolls and cosmetic armor...once you got one of everything? There was no reason to play any more. "How do you make your tenth Better Devils interesting?" Answer: You can't. So there was on reason to continue to play other than shooting people in the face in Crucible...and the player base hated vanilla D2 Crucible too. As a result Bungie was desperate to find a way to keep us grinding away at a loot game with basically no loot. So they came up with the Milestone system, and it basically BROKE the relationship between player time investment and rate of progression. So they kept us playing by playing hide-and-seek with progression....and turning it from an investement process and into a slot machine. ...and that fact that the game effectively steals your time by frequently not giving you anything that will progess your character in return for your time is what you're feeling. You have every right to be angry and frustrated about, because this move breaks EVERY rule of RPG game design where progression goes. Every other well-designed RPG gives you predictable progression based on how much you play, and they also give you the freedom to play whatever you want to play in order to progress. While Bungie's system turns progression into a gamble that you frequently walk away from empty-handed....and handcuffs you into a very narrow set of activities that you have to engage with....and the rest of the game becomes a waste of time progression-wise. In short the system is DESPARATELY broken....and poorly (maliciously) designed...and Bungie has never gotten around to fixing it. They sanded off some of the rough edges to make it more tolerable, but has never actually fixed. it.

Keep playing. I gave up along time ago.
-
Then they should raise the light level increase each season back to 50 instead of 10.
-
Why not rotating drops to make players do activities instead. Let's say strike pinnacle this week is boots, next week is gauntlet and gambit drops boots, now there's motivation to play and no need to vault contents because "it doesn't see much traffic to be kept in the game"
-
The only part of the game I have hated since D1. Leveling up. Relying on consistently glitchy rng to get fully leveled up. I hate it.
-
1. It's crazy how people are actually still trying to hit 1330 base this far into this extended season. 2. You should run VoG for pinnacles.
-
Imagine crying over a number 😂

Edited by Shoto Todoroki: 1/9/2022 7:27:57 PMC'est la vie. Hence RNG. You want to know why things can't be prioritized, aka easy mode? Because life isn't fair, and Bungie is not here to accommodate your entitlement or convenience. Many other's have no issue putting in the work, grinding out said RNG to get to where they're at.

👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻i wish this would happen

Whenever people complain about this by mid season I highly doubt they have been efficiently leveling. Not saying you should have to I have friends who don’t care when they hit max but if you pay attention to the most time efficient drop sources hitting max isint hard at all. Having it be any easier would ruin the fun and grind for people who actually play this game and don’t want things handed out for free to anyone who asks.
-
We all have to grind, so do you. Don't complain, get with the program.
-
"FOREVER 29" That's all I got to say about that.

I miss Me-blam!-

Why don’t y’all spell “prioritization” with a “Z”? Not “Zed” “Z” Answer: Out of spite
-
Working as intended.

I don’t like this idea. Where is the excitement when you finally get what you want? Sometimes you quickly get what you need and sometimes it takes a bit.
-
Prioritization. There, my spell check works.
-
Just stop caring and it will drop within a week
-
Git gud
-
Why should they?
-
I gave up along time ago. Its depressing you spend your time and get crap you just dismantle.
-
I git 1330 after season level 500. Enjoy the grind friend

It's called RNG for a reason
