If we add this people will then ask for other perks to be turned into weapon mods and it just becomes an endless cycle until perks aren't a thing anymore and bungie finds a new way to make us grind hours and hours on the hamster wheel.

but is turning weapon perks into mods really a problem in the first place? i mean currently we have the (minor, major and boss specs) which is just a flat damage buff. imo having more options to enhance the weapon for utility purposes would be a good thing, instead of it being mandatory to wear a damage spec.

If you want different utilities, can’t you just… use the utility perks? Most of them are way stronger than people give them credit for lmao.

Edited by RedTwinGamer: 12/31/2021 3:28:23 AMI do agree that if you want to use a utility weapon, you can do that, but as i said "having more options to enhance the weapon for utility purposes would be a good thing" mainly because having more mods to compete with the mandatory damage mods, seems like a healthy thing in my eyes. maybe something similar to the rampage spec, surrounded spec and dragonfly spec, could be the solution, maybe something simple as "Osmosis Spec" that would allow you to stow the weapon without loosing the element.

Edited by Stardust Hyena: 12/31/2021 3:26:42 AMDamage perks aren’t even mandatory, specifically with primaries. Every perk you mentioned outside of underdog is already a genuinely good perk. It’s up to you to actually use those perks, rather than just say “but but but damage perks”.
-
sure the perks are good "in their very niche situation" and its not like i am saying "lets remove the perks" I'm just suggesting to add more perks as mods, since it would give "minor, major and boss spec" something to compete against. and to give some of the (under-performing / appreciated) perks some play, at the cost of the 7,5% extra damage.
-
Or you could just use the perks as they are, since they function perfectly well. They’re not even super niche outside of things like osmosis.
-
sounds like we can't agree on this one. but i fail to see the problem with more options and more competition for the mod slot.

I fail to see how you can’t use the perks as they are. This is definitely a user error thing.
