When we talk about underperforming perks we aren't talking about damage and certain reload perks since they all have a specific use that makes them good in certain situations.
but rather perks like
- Osmosis
- Pulse Monitor
- Unrelenting (debateable)
- Genesis
- Underdog
- Shoot to loot (debateable)
- Sympathetic Arsenal (debateable)
that doesn't really see much play or is just outclassed by other and better perks.
my solution:
the way Bungie added (Full auto - Full auto retrofit) as a weapon mod, was very cleaver and well implemented, and in the same way i think bungie should add some of these underperforming perks as new weapon mods instead.
this would allow for more build options and potentially shake up the weapon mod slot so that people might use something else than the everlasting (Minor, Major and Boss spec) which is so attached to our weapons currently.
Do let me know your thoughts on this :)

Pulse monitor is fine and isn't under performing just under utilized. Sympathetic arsenal I feel just don't have a gun outside of gls that could even benefit which they also nerfed so bungo is at Fault for that. Unrelenting is bad intentionally because they don't want a life support situation again. Shoot to loot is amazing but will be bad once the special ammo nerf comes. We can't say osmosis is bad since its pve its very good in Gms same with genesis just situational.

For osmosis it would be neat if your kinetic not only converts to the energy of your subclass but also temporarily applies an elemental burn 🔥 when landing precision shots. So you toss your grenade and your kinetic turns into a solarweapon for example. Then let’s imagine for 10 seconds that weapon applies a solar burn when landing crits. That would be cool.

Genesis and unrelenting are very good. Just not for pvp.

Bungie has had so many underwhelming perks go unnoticed and this would be a very good solution for them since the same can be said about a lot of the weapon mods. Me personally, the specs need to be removed and incorporated directly into the weapons themselves. What is the point in putting on damage modifier when it can be incorporated into the weapons themselves? They can literally be intrinsic perks.

7 RepliesEdited by IAGNRG: 12/30/2021 5:11:10 PMI believe some to be strong, just depends on whether or not you use them. Osmosis and unrelenting are strong perks, they are just not that popular. Popularity, however, does not correlate to the true strength of perks. Most “meta” perks are fairly the same in terms of strength to a couple on this list, they’re just easier to use, therefore more popular (that is not to say perks like rampage, for example, aren’t strong in general). These two perks are strong, just have to utilize them.

8 RepliesIf we add this people will then ask for other perks to be turned into weapon mods and it just becomes an endless cycle until perks aren't a thing anymore and bungie finds a new way to make us grind hours and hours on the hamster wheel.

1 Replyosmosis and underdog are both good perks
