My experience is that playing control in crossplay is absolutely trash. The script goes like this: One team dominates and captures all zones, then the game begins to spawning the loosing side players between A and C in order to give opportunity to capture. This continues some time, then loosing team players leave the game or the game ends to mercy. Winning team has usually one or two players with double digit KD (20 is not unusual), and the rest are ballpark 2. Loosing team is typlically below 1.
My understanding is that Bungie reduces the network resources for these "non competitive" modes significantly which means that lag is huge and the game is very unbalanced. Moving crossplay to PS gives a better experience, but it takes quite a bit of time to collect players for the first game, but after that it is quite OK. I do not know what is the reason for this delay for the first game, but it is odd.
Anyways, it would be nice if the game would have some consistency after 7 years.

Lag was awful before crossplay. Solution? Connect all systems. Every time and I mean every time it's a suspect connection it's crossplay. Of course bungie will ignore the fact that anyone has said anything about it.

Super bump this post. Bungie is acting like pvp isn't a raging dumpster fire
-
Can’t bump this enough. Lag has been so much worse since crossplay. It’s sad cus idk what kinda levels of revenue Bungie would have to see to invest in servers

Edited by Sohsuh: 11/27/2021 5:41:42 AMWhat I don't understand is how they are ignoring this. How do they just flat out ignore these MASSIVE issues like lobby balancing and horrible lag? It's unplayable. It's such a joke at this point. They have to address this. It's been long enough they need to address this. They keep asking for money yet they ignore major problems it's pathetic.

Lag in this game is so bad I think we should sue Bungie. No one should suffer with this constant -blam!- of a connection even though I have 1gb private fibre with a ping of 2 I find laggy dickbags that lag around the map. No wonder people are leaving for other games.

The game has an outdated feel to it
-
They had some college intern write it for free.

I've actually stopped playing pvp because of the lag. I'm just tired of it at this point. It's 100% not an issue of my internet because I have top of the line service and every other pvp game I play with dedicated servers has basically zero issues. Not sure when my last pvp session in D2 was but there was so lag I just logged off and have not returned to pvp. Btw I'm a pvp player at heart approaching 200k pvp kills so I'm no casual at it either but not a tryhard at the same time. They need to get dedicated servers already.

Edited by JazzyPaladin477: 11/26/2021 3:24:56 AMToo be fair…it was pretty bad before cross play. Although lag in this game is atrocious, it is only marginally worse then it was before.
-
Agreed. Crossplay has a lot of issues in PvP and Bungie really need to address this and give the community some feedback.
-
None of this has changed from before crossplay was introduced. The only thing crossplay did was make matches laggier and throw weapon balancing out of whack.
-
It was the same before Crossplay ;)

The match making is gotten stupidly worse. If you don't enable crossplay it takes a good 5 mins to get 12 ppl. If you do. It is usually paired how you said. And my personal experience is If I'm solo I more often then not get paired against a full stack with 5 other solos. Bungie has -blam!- destroyed their match making even more then I thought they could have. That seems to be the once consistent they can do. -blam!- things up worse instead of improving on issues.
