Twab brought the hype for me. Looking forward to weaker abilities and more primary gunplay in pvp

Yeah, I played something like that in Year 1. Gave me a revelation that making abilities water balloons or non-existent, creates the most depressing Destiny game anyone has ever played. “Primary gunplay” is nonsense propaganda from those who can’t master both, like you use them more than you think. Primary weapons aren’t a joke, they do the job as they were intended.

You’re clearly overreacting and not seeing the bigger picture.

All I am saying is that Bungie is going 1 step in the direction of Destiny 2 Vanilla with the shoulder charge reverse nerf. If a company reverses a buff of something that was laughably mediocre in Y1, then what should you expect? Do you see the big picture of doing that? lol

Very few players used it anyway. Besides it can still OHK with Peregrine Grieves but good luck with that.

It’s nothing compared to the shatterdive quick surprise, yet, they gave it the axe for no good reason. Also, hunters get their ohk sticky grenades back, and guess what: it doesn’t require an exotic slot for it to work as intended.

Who knows why they did it. My guess is because of Skullfort in PvP. I have always said this game is a Hunter Simulator.

I'd wager this exact reaction is why nothing has changed for years. Bungie have probably been afraid of knee-jerk reactions like this, which I understand. Nobody wants to go back to year 1. What you need to understand though is that we don't know what this will be like. It already doesn't sound like year 1 though since every single grenade and super is being adjusted to fit a specific role. Year 1 was just, "neuter everything including the guns". We aren't losing ttk on our weapons, we aren't losing special weapons, that's already vastly different from year 1. Wait and see what happens, if its that big a problem, Bungie will change things back. At least the game is actually changing... I'd rather the game change than have it stay stale.

This isn’t Y1 tho, ttk isn’t increasing just the frequency of super strong abilities that are skill equalizers. I’m a top 1% player, I’ve mastered pretty much every thing about destiny pvp. ( it’s not like it’s particularly hard thing to do tho). Gunplay is what makes destiny sick in my eyes so I’m always happy to see the needle move in that direction

  • I agree that if you are top 1% this is what you are asking for. However I think if it moves too extremely in that direction then you will wind up playing your friends and that's about it. This does have a D2 year 1 feel to it. I will hold judgment until it's actually released but thats how it appears. Top say 10% players will be happy with the changes and the rest will move on to other games. Without abilities and space magic why choose this game over another? It is taking the Destiny out of Destiny.

  • Plenty of reasons, destiny is the only fps that lets you take guns from PvE into a pvp environment. No other game has such a diverse roster of guns that are legitimately fun to use. Abilities will still be there but you won’t have a nade every 45 seconds with little investment.

  • We will have to agree to disagree. If this is like D2 year 1 please don't complain about lack of population.

  • Interested I played that in year 1 of Destiny 2 and it was IMO one of the worst metas I've ever experienced.
