Marmot Error Code

I play on the steam version of Destiny 2. I have no idea how to fix this error code. My game has been crashing since the start of the season. Initially without an error code notifying me to verify my game file integrity and about a few weeks ago it finally started appearing as the marmot error code. What I know about this error code is that it will randomly crash the game with no specific trigger and the game will continue to crash every time when rejoining a match in progress. It's been happening to me mostly when I play crucible although a few times it happened while loading into the dreaming city. The only temporary fix is to restart my computer but then it's only a matter of time for the game to give me a MARMOT error code and close my game again. This problem seems to be affecting a handful of people with varying amounts of time they can play before they crash, “got another 20 hours in, happened again. seems to work for awhile but your mileage may vary” (u/smxthh20). I've tried many different methods to try and fix this. So far, I've done these following solutions several times. I've verified my game files. I've uninstalled the game and reinstalled. I've cleared the game cache. I've repaired and reinstalled battle eye anti cheat. I’ve switched the location of where my game was saved to. I’ve done drive repairs. I’ve swapped from windows 10 to windows 11, still getting the error code on both OS. And now I've just finished a factory reset of my computer and I still get the error code. Although I don’t exactly know what this does, I’ve even gone into the registry editor to change “DisableRootAutoUpdate” to 0 under \HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\AuthRoot. I also do not have any “*.acf.tmp.save” in my installation folder to delete. I’ve been actively searching for a solution but all the methods I’ve mentioned before seem to not solve the problem. I haven’t seen Bungie acknowledging that this could be a bug as they will continue to refer to the “verify game file integrity” fix which I’ve stated previously doesn’t work. In case this might be a hardware issue here are my specs. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING (WIFI) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 RAM: 32 GB DDR4-3200MHZ mix of Trident Z RGB (2) and Ripjaws V (2) both G.SKILL products Storage: Western Digital 500GB WD Blue 3D NAND Internal PC SSD Western Digital 1TB WD Blue PC Hard Drive HDD Please help. I just want to play the game without the feeling of the impending doom of a crash mid TRIALS match. I’ve dropped from Diamond 2 to Plat 3 from DNF matches. Correction: Bungie is aware of the issue.

  • Check if PBO is enabled. Try turning it off in your BIOS if so. It might get the game running a bit better with absolutely bone stock CPU settings.

  • It seems that so far that someone who is also experiencing game crashes from Marmot has the same CPU and similar brand RAM hardware as I do.

  • Update: So I've done another reset of my computer removing all files from my computer this time. I've also reverted from windows 11 to windows 10. I'm still getting marmot even after starting on a fresh install of windows.
