Known Issue: Increase in Rutabaga Errors
A group of individuals discovered and reported an issue where players can generate more orbs than intended when triggering some supers. The team has been working on a fix for this, currently targeting December for release.
To prevent exploitation of this issue, the team has deployed some changes that will force Rutabaga errors when players attempt to reproduce the bug. With this change, we are also aware that players who experience extreme sustained framerate hitching in PvP environments may encounter this error more frequently than normal.
If you encounter Rutabaga errors when playing in PvP environments for reasons other than reproducing the orb generation issue, please respond to this thread with details on what you were doing when the error occurred.

Quicker solution in the short term: Just disable Orb generation in pvp. Stop doing things that obviously only effect some players.

Bungie please fix this "Temp Fix" people who may have frame rate stutter are getting banned from pvp because there frames drop below 10 for 1-second! I was playing trials and I have a good computer and i can play making 144-150 fps on lowest graphics and still when i get a stutter that drops below 10 i get kicked for rutabaga PLEASE FIX THIS! People that don't have perfect builds are getting railed by this change.

My pc has a Zen 1 1600 that, since launch will get a random hitch/pause. Mainly loading from one area to the next in PvE, but during PvP it only happens after rounds, as the scoreboard comes up... I cannot recall a single time, EVER that it happened when I was alive in a crucible match. So now this Rutabaga error kicks me every single time this happens. I work 50+ hrs a week, and MOST of my time off is spent with family, so what little time I do have to spend gaming is ruined by a band-aid fix that is having a more negative effect (in my case) than the glitch it is supposed to address. I have yet to see this glitch IRL. **RANT over** Gonna go try to play a few Trials matches before I get soft banned again and logging off for the night.

Made the mistake of being outside the game when loading into trials, got rutabaga'd, had my menu open the next time, had a network issue where my internet completely shut off and got weaseled, then finally now out of habit needed a gun so alt-tabbed out of the game to go to DIM, tab back in rutabaga, so now I'm timed-out from Trials for idk how long. Guess I can't play trials till December... Maybe turning off orb generation in competitive PVP might have been a better solution than Error coding someone if their FPS dips a little bit below a threshold. As always thanks Bungie.

i cant load into gambit specifically, but crucible is fine, i think it has something to do with the cutscene at the beginning of gambit lowering my fps enough to kick me out, i tried 5+ times and each time i got booted out before i could even control my character. iif it matters i have a lower end pc

If I ALT+ENTER to swap out of full screen to windowed it will cause this, I think largely because I have 3 monitors, 2 60hz and my main I play on 240 hz. When it tabs out it causes a quick drop in FPS and then it stabilizes.

Literally just trying to get in to a pvp (Crucible)lobby gives me the error when I have never had it before. also if I get in to a crucible i have noticed that I my fps drops from the usual 60-80 fps down to the point of trying to fight ppl usually froze my screen And it's only Crucible that is messed up gambit works fine like normal same for everything else in the game

in trials and glory Playlists? sure, I get it. I'm trying to earn triumphs in 6v6 games and keep getting rutabaga errors due to minor framerate drops. seriously? not everyone can afford a 6000 dollar gaming setup. just let people cheese the game for a little bit. you're hurting the experience tremendously for people without high end PCs.

Oh so is that why every time I tried to watch a cutscene back during the story missions it would kick me to orbit? My computer is just bordering on being a potato (it's not there yet, but the processor is struggling and so a new computer is in the plans for the future), so my framerate drops with cutscenes, but they're not impossible to watch. ...until they started kicking me to orbit that is. I had to skip the cutscenes and that's somewhat frustrating, but I'm not sure if this was part of this weird...fix. it started occurring for me back when people could first get their hands on Ager's Scepter.

It`s just impossible for me to play pvp anymore because I keep getting kicked out of almost every match I play because my FPS randomly drop once and I get Rutabaga code. I just started a Match of elimination and couldn`t even get past the animation that shows your teams Players. PvP is basically a "how fast can I get rutabaga" speedrun at least for me.

Edited by Sherlock Holmes: 10/29/2021 9:07:13 AMI've started getting this error recently except I wasn't alt-tabbing during a match to do the glitch and only alt-tabbed to close Destiny 2 with task manager during an infinite loading screen or on a black screen because Destiny 2 has been recently started to freeze, stutter, and crash while loading for me. Another thing that seems to be working against me is that I'm on a laptop with a wireless connection. I only found out about the alt-tabbing glitch while trying to find out what the rutabaga errors meant while trying to fix my game's many other issues.

Have gotten around 10-15 rutabaga errors during pvp playlists and others. This has led to have me temporarily suspended from comp pvp and that is my favourite gamemode. please fix this bungie, im not even dropping frames.

1 Replyso this is why I got banned, for 2 weeks no less? I mean I got things to grind worst curcible playlists cycle at a weekly basis I would be missing one that I hasnt complete for the weekly challenges. I really wish to appeal against the ban.

Game of Crucible (control), about 3 mins into a match. Zero graphical stuttering or frame drops, no window switching, just boom - Rutabega and kicked to orbit

4 RepliesEdited by TTVTheDemonCore: 10/29/2021 2:18:40 AMif your getting the error code rutabega on pc and your not useing this glitch experinceing major frame drops lag spikes that take a bit to recover i suggest you back up your games and anything eltse cause a failing hdd can cause this error code too ask me how i know :| anyways i backed up all my games got a new 500 gb sdd and a 5tb hdd switched everything over and everything works just fine i gotten it like 30 times while playing bofore my hdd died and the most random places too while playing in pvp pve playing gambit strikes ect hope this helps some of you and you can once and again injoy playing without this silly error code from a backdoor update and a few sucmmy players ruining the fun of outhers and most of the time is it says suspended from playing pvp gambit ect this its tempory for 15 - 30 mins unless you have a perm ban where the account has been banned its self ( specs i7 8750 16gb ddr4 3200 1 256 gb ssd windows only 1 500 gb ssd for well played steam games 1 5tb hdd for outher games 4k 43 tv 120hz gtx1070 8 gb over clocked ) i get 100 + fps on high graphics most of the time

Just was playing in PvP. Actively playing, not tabbing out. Game started to stutter and in 1-2sec, kicked with Rutabaga. I have my FPS locked at 60fps on PC Steam.

Kicked our of gambit 3 times. 1-the first time I invaded 2-primevil was almost defeated 3-invader invaded

Got Rutabaga without any alt-tabbing involved. Loaded into three gambit matches, each one as soon as the transmat went off and I spawned in the arena my framerate dipped *just* enough to get me kicked out.

1 ReplyI started pvp, was still in my character customization screen when framerate dipped n I got booted with this error code. I don't have the greatest in PC performance (AMD Ryzen 1400 CPU n Radeon RX 580 GPU). Probably will stay away from pvp until this gets fixed. thank you for reading this! have a nice day!

4 RepliesI got taken to orbit for alt-tabbing while in matchmaking, yet I was fully present during games. I just wanted to look at discord or use Destiny Item Manager, but if I did I would always get booted from a queue and I have been banned from competitive crucible twice now.
