[BNG] Xbox "Blocked Player" Issues

We're currently investigating issues where Xbox players are seeing "blocked" players in their roset. Xbox players are who experiencing issues where all non-friends are blocked for them should try the following steps below. [i]IF THE STEPS DON'T HELP[/i], please provide a video or screenshots on YouTube, Twitter, or [url=https://imgur.com/]Imgur.com[/url] displaying your Xbox "Communication and Multiplayer" settings AND your Roster page showing the blocked accounts.     Temp fix= Use the controller to restart your xbox. That fixes it. I hope a real fix happened or is happening cause: going idle til your controller dies

    • I'm still having this issue, I have all the correct settings and have reset the game and my Xbox numerous times. It seems to happen with people who are on Playstation. Currently not seeing this problem with those who are connecting from steam.

      • I've been having this issue even when following the steps/settings listed above, but have resolved it recently. I always leave my Xbox in Instant On mode, and power it off without closing destiny. So when I reboot and reopen destiny, I see the message about a connection problem or something since it wasn't actually shut down. I would have to fully close destiny and reboot my xbox to resolve it. After changing the power settings on my xbox from Instant On to "normal/energy saving" or whatever, I haven't experienced this issue anymore.

        • I have issue on Xbox since update, where people on my friends list on ps4 can't here me but I can here them. Issue happend in middle of raid, I was made fireteam leader to get boss checkpoint for other players, after that no one on ps4/ps5 could hear me or anyone else on Xbox and we restarted consoles still happend. Still current issue as of this morning.

          • Ok, after doing everything posted, I have completed all of the “fixes” and cleared my cache. I am still blocked from playing with friends that are using pc. It says BLOCKED under their gamertag. Next idea, this was working til yesterday.

          • Good afternoon, while playing a few moments ago I got a message that my account is temporarily banned for 2 months, due to a bad connection, my connection is totally fine, without inconvenience, I think that the error is in another part of the servers, please I demand attention to my situation and this ban be removed, I am a fair player who loves this game a lot for many years. Thank you for your attention.

          • Ps4 seem to struggling with some issues as ever since the twab I have been none stop blue screening and crashing please fix this issue as people have payed lots of money for dlc and witch Queen and we can't even get on the servers without crashing

            dear amazing bungo :D You set some stuff that forces pc client to automaticaly block whoever says something in chat. Like wtf, are u serious? Will this be some special feature, like buy SPECIAL EDITION OF DESTINY FOR 120 USD to avoid this? :D Cmon, this is bad

            Everything was fine for me until October 20th maintenance came, now all non xbox accounts are blocked. Edit: after logging in today 21st things are back to normal

          • Same problem here. Tried all solutions and still get the error code chicken and all non Xbox players are blocked. It takes 15 minutes to get through the loading screens and is now unplayable. The Halloween event is my favorite and I haven’t been able to play it. Super cool!

          • Yes,blocked problem...same issue,some of my steam friend got blocked,I already check the xbox crossplay,it's ok with it but some friend still been blocked.

            Having the same issue still. I have to continuously clear the cache for my Xbox. This can’t be considered a fix, it’s a workaround at best and something is definitely broken still behind the scenes. All my settings have been set correctly for over a week now. My issue is a bit different, as I just don’t receive invites from anyone in the companion app and when I look up the guardian manually, it shows BLOCKED on their profile.

          • I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM AND MY SETTINGS ARE EXACTLY AS THEY SHOULD BE AND WAS WORKING BEFORE HALLOWEEN EVENT

              This is a nightmare. If its not fixed right away like all your halloween fixes to slow down play, well then im canceling witchqueen. Check my account. I paid for the top one which is I think One Hundred Bucks. But honestly ive lost a week of play going in circles here and hours on hours each day thinking itll get better. Cant do any GM nightfalls and last season when available I did about 200 plus completions. PLEASE FIX THIS !!! Your list of hoops to jump through is NOT WORKING. FYI I went into my settings on console like you say above and all my settings were already set to that! please advise.

            • played a trials match, solo... ran into a 3 stack, caught one of em cheating, reported through the game, blocked all 3... we lose. No problem, i re-match make and.... we face off against the EXACT same 3 stack ! HOW ?????? Anyways, i quit out, get the warning message, which i was expecting, no problem. I re-match make, we play.... and the game freezes as my last team mate gets killed. The opponents revive, we're all dead and the game decides the match is NOT over. After about 5 min. the opponents all kill themselves... the game decides... It's NOT over. Everyone eventually disconnects as do i. Guess what happens when i get to orbit ?

            • That not the biggest issue, I can't even consistently load into the game, garbage error message saying check connection. It's been checked also still runs all other online games perfectly as normal including those with more stringent connection requirements Xbox series x but also seeing many issues with ps5 players popping up on the forums today.

            • I was disconnected from trials about 8 times today. The game counted every single one as an intended abandoned matches and now i am suspended from playing trials. How are you to fix this issue bungie after thousands and thousands of people pay money including myself in your eververse stores and continue to play this game

              • So far I’ve done all the steps but they seem to only work as temporary fixes,and they only work some of the time. I did notice something strange though, when the blocked symbol comes back it only blocks people who I’ve sent Bungie friend requests to on Xbox, people who I’m just regular Xbox friends with don’t have the block symbol. Also if I scroll down to the Xbox account associated with someone who is blocked and click on it it makes it go away(but only if they’re offline) Also when I look at who is blocked in the tower it isn’t always everyone, just people on other platforms. Keep in mind I’ve made sure my settings are correct so this shouldn’t be happening. I think the problem may be how Bungie Accounts interact with Xbox Accounts in some way Hope this info can be helpful

                Can also confirm this only became an issue after the Halloween update. It was working fine before. I cant send invites via the companion app, it just auto blocks them. Even when i found them via Xbox Live and tried to invite it still couldnt invite them. It looks like it attempts to as i get the message "Someone is joining your fireteam" but nothing happens after.
