    Shatterdive can’t OHK anything. It’s a combo that requires a grenade…being frozen…and then being struck by a second ability. The Shatterdive itself. Jeez. And it’s an ability that is only an issue for players who push too aggressively and thoughtlessly. Go bully someone else. You’re wasting your time with that -blam!- on me.

    You must pretty dense, everyone knows it’s the combo and anytime someone talks about it, they are talking about the combo. It takes less than a second to do both abilities so don’t pretend is hard to do either

    Sure it is. Balance is counterplay. Backing up and fighting a powerful SHORT RANGE ability from a distance is a reasonable and proportional ADAPTATION. The problem is that many of you refuse to change how you play. So you just cry and demand that the game be made easier. Instead of you becoming more flexible.

Mom must be proud. Just for the record? Note that I’m arguing AGAINST a range buff to Thorn despite the fact that I use it. And against a nerf to Shatterdive despite the fact that I NEVER use it.     That’s why they give us an assortment of weapons with different [i]ranges.[/i] And it’s also why Thorn doesn’t need a range buff that would neutralize the competitiveness of other weapons. The game doesn’t need to be tuned so that you can play one way in every situation. That is the antithesis of balance. That tipping the sandbox in favor of one play style. Argumentum ad Populum: [i]Everyone is saying.[/i] “Everyone” isn’t and I don’t give a -blam!- if they were. Shatterdive can be managed if you are willing to back up and fight it at range. The problem is some of you don’t know how to play that way, or think that you shouldn’t have to. So out go the cries to make the game easier: [i]The whole world has to change so that I can stay the same….[/i]

    Again that buff of 1.5 m wouldn’t change its status as the lowest range 140. Which means your whole worry is addressed as the others will still have the edge that have over it

  • Saying 2+2=5 over and over again doesn’t make it true. And Bungie doesn’t have the luxury of ignoring everything that doesn’t support what you want. They have to account for how the weapon will be used and what build will get used. They can’t just jump up and down and insist that “It just doesn’t matter.” And if it doesn’t then that is even more reason to not bother doing it.

  • Your math isn’t wrong. You just refuse to consider those numbers in context because they don’t support what you want. And that won’t change no matter how many times you post them. Read my lips: Thorns damage is highly variable. So it is balanced by reducing its range. Bungie knows that this weapon can easily get out of hand and they are not going to buff it. Especially when it’s is sitting in a good spot where it is gettinlots or use and few complaints. Period.
