Somehow it’s popular to think that people don’t die from covid, but they do. RIP

  • Yeah. I can’t begin to understand those who still want to believe it’s some sort of hoax or conspiracy. 🤦🏾‍♂️

  • I had my second jab the other day and it hit me like a -blam!- train. (Didn't help i had to do some pretty physical work straight afterwards but that's besides the point) I would much rather have that inconvenience with the knowledge that it's helping me in the long run, than lose a limb or even my life; people not wanting to get vaccinated or who act like it isn't a big deal are just -blam!- stupid in my opinion. Like i kind of understand not trusting the government or big companies in a general sense, but the health of you and the people you surround yourself with should be more important than some dumb paranoia you got from watching too many episodes of The X-Files, right?

Sounds like the Moderna vaccine. I spiked a fever to 102.5 F when I got my second dose. But one day of not feeling well is a small price to pay to avoid a fatal or crippling disease. I think fear and anger are the culprits. ( I get them on a intellectual level, just not in a gut level) Times like this are when you are forced to face your mortality. The fact that you are going to die someday…and I think some people just can’t handle that emotionally or psychologically. So they come up with all sorts of strategies to eithe not have to face it, or that they are in control…when they aren’t. The tragedy being that those strategies leave them even more vulnerable and make what they fear even more likely.

Hole in one. I'm the only person i know who got Moderna, Guess it's just not very widespread in the UK since the gov jumped on the Pfizer bandwagon early. Yeah, i think i've heard it a lot from younger people so that would make sense. Unless you're used to being told you have bodily limitations it must be hard to accept the first time, especially when it's a virus/disease because until you see someone with it or get it yourself it's just some abstract concept. Also doesn't help that the media was downplaying the whole thing for quite a while; not that i blame them particularly, i was one of those "It's just a flu" people right up until it started sweeping through Europe and the death tolls shot up.

  • Yeah. When you’re young, you tend to think that you’re ten-feet-tall-and-bulletproof. Death is an abstraction until it starts to hit close to home…
