Becoming unplayable on PS4 Pro

A little backstory. So I took about a year and a half hiatus to explore different games, etc. I did delete the game to make more space for other stuff. After re-downloading it and starting the game, I noticed a few issues and wanted to understand whats going on: 1) It takes an extended amount of load time between title screen and character screen. As Im writing this its been about 2 minutes before it loaded me into my character selection. The load times going into any planet or activity has been excessively long. 2) Making ANY action takes forever in regards to load times and I get the message at the bottom saying “Contacting Destiny 2 Servers.” These actions would be anything including: changing armor/weapons, upgrading gear, collecting on bounties, long load time after cycling through screen, etc. 3) When I go to the tower, other characters appear ghost like. The entire appearance isn’t there. Instead a silhouette of a guardian in a star like form. As if they hadn’t finished fully appearing after a transmat. After a while they begin to appear normal. 4) The error codes. So far in the past two weeks I have received a large number of baboon codes, a couple beaver codes, and just recently error code chicken. 5) The last issue I have had is that I have had an error through my PS saying that the application cannot continue because the file is corrupted. I must delete the game and re-download it. This has happened to me twice in the past two weeks with this game. It is very discouraging that this game has become unplayable for me. Despite taking the break, I used to enjoy this game very much and was looking forward to the future. Any ideas?

  • I figured out the problem. There were problems with the hard drive on the PS4. Made a repair, everything works. The problems are not in the game, but in the console. In some cases, starting data recovery from the console menu helps. To do this, PS4 needs to be started in Safe Mode and select an item from the menu.

  • Hi. Thanks for your report. This sounds like a connection issue of some kind is occurring, and could be an internet service provider issue.
