EDIT: If you come here to comment how any topic about being LGBT is political, save yourself the trouble. I will no longer reply to these kinds of statements as they border on violating t.o.s. if you believe that who someone loves is political I feel bad for you.
First off, if you haven't read the lore of Wolftone Draw please take a moment to do so; https://www.ishtar-collective.net/entries/wolftone-draw
Now that you've done that, welcome. I'd like to talk about and discuss with other's the implications of this lore along with the reveal of Savathun.
My most pressing questions; Do you think Osiris is still really alive? If so what kind of state do you think he will return in?
And
When and IF Osiris comes back, do you think Bungie will finally implicate them as a relationship in game?
-----
I plan on answering my own questions here of course but I really want to know what the rest of you think!
This is probably the most heart/gut wrenching aspect of this season and it has me absolutely enamoured. It has been a LONG time since I was waiting on the edge of my seat for weekly refresh and it is probably more biased for me, but this story is holding my attention in a vice.
I've seen Saint and Osiris as a romantic relationship back when Trials of Osiris first dropped in House of Wolves and we got more and more lore about the two. And the bits and pieces of lore tidbits that we've gotten over these last few years has only made my heart swell with appreciation and excitement not only for something I saw as a potential relationship being confirmed but because Saint-14 is one of my absolute favorite characters and getting to see him and Osiris represent me and my fellow LGBT friends is such a refreshing breath of air.
I personally hope that Osiris is still alive and Savathun delivers upon her promise of giving him back unharmed but knowing the basis for Witch Queen, I can't help but feel that this is simply part of her plan. The Lore of Wolftone implies that Osiris is, infact, alive- but that isn't to say that Savathun isn't planning on killing him once our part of the deal is over. Thus the events of Witch Queen take place. I hope this isn't the case but it would all make sense.
Holding him captive and forcing him to answer her questions about the light, ect; only to deliver him back to us (and Saint) only for him to either:
A: have become so dependant on the holding realm that Savathun has kept him in that he can no longer function in our world.
B: is perfectly fine but is struck down by Savathun before she escapes.
Or C: Is delivered back to us already dead.
I am hoping for the best possible outcome and call my cynical but if you know anything about LGBT representation in media it always ends in tragedy. There may be one or two exceptions to this but I just cannot shake the feeling that this isn't the case here.
---
I'm hoping Osiris comes back unharmed and him and Saint get to share a warm and endearing embrace and everything will be fine- but I feel in my heart of hearts this is simply not going to be the case.
Please feel free to share your thoughts/ideas on this subject! I'd love to know what you all think as well!

To answer your questions. 1: yes Osiris is alive but good ghost, Sagira, is not. 2: The lore has already confirmed Saint and Osiris' relationship many times, including Osiris literally rewriting time to get Saint back. To me, romantic relationships (of any type) that aren't integral to a story aren't really important past serving as motivation or flavour to the narrative or world. As an example, Hammerlock and Jakobs from BL3 serve as a near perfect example of well written independent characters, who happen to be in a romantic relationship. We see this develop and grow and are shown how much they care about each other in a positive and cohesive way through the main story and DLC. To me, they're the epitome of a great on screen couple, regardless of their gender.

man, i can see -blam!- already happened here i’d try posting on r/destinylore instead, hopefully less capital g Gamers there to be annoying and unhelpful

1 ReplyWell. This thread went predictably.

27 RepliesNope. Bungie needs to retcon back to the original arc where they were brothers-in-arms. I don't have an issue with LGBTQ+ people living how they want to live, but you don't sacrifice the best thread between two characters in the game for the sake of politics. Make new characters instead. It's not hard.
Sorry, all out of salt.
Everyone seems to think that OP is saying “only lgbtq people allowed” but that’s literally not at ALL the title. It says /ALLY. As in, a supporter of lgbtq people. You all could even bother to get past the title. For shame...

Ima -blam!- on this for that reason alone

2 RepliesI think the embrace thing is cool. But unrealistic, considering how many markets it's taboo in (especially China). Unfortunately doesn't make sense for a game this big to use resources towards that if it'll have to be cut in a good chunk of markets.

2 RepliesI think it would be kinda stupid to bring Osiris back. Let me explain If they bring Osiris back then Saint and Osiris can share a moment which i would actually like but i hope they don’t bring Osiris back why? Because bringing him back will take away from the Saint on a rampage deal Saint will do anything for Osiris i like that build off that what will he do if the real Osiris is dead? I would like to see but if they bring him back they under cut the Rampage storyline But thats just my thoughts

26 RepliesI feel like that last part of the title is insanely unnecessary.

1 ReplyNot sure bungie forums is the right place for this especially with that last line. Might even be against ToS?

27 RepliesEdited by l HyperLethal l: 9/2/2021 5:55:59 PMEdit: I talked op and I genuinely feel like he/she means no harm so don't be hateful towards them. Sometimes things may appear to be a certain way then end up to be something else entirely. I assume this is a troll post but honestly? I don't know for sure. Regardless, this doesn't mean I have any ill will towards these topics or want people to harass this person. So, don't. The last thing I want to do is promote harassment or set any harmful precedents.

Don't care about the games -blam!- orientations, but I do care for the characters. Yes I hope they get to see each other, but they will follow sorrows road in the end...we may not see the end of Saint, but we know it's there.

Bungie has yet to prove in Endgame to convince me they are more then a Brotherly Love towards each other. Twitter doesn't count.
(LGBT+/Ally only plz)
seriously?? -
3 RepliesI honestly don’t care. It doesn’t matter at all to me

2 RepliesAs much as I would like to see more of the romantic relationship between Saint and Osiris in the game, it just seems to me like Bungie will probably leave Osiris dead. It would be nice to see some lore in trials weapons that show Saint forced to mourn his lost love after believing they were together again. That said I’m expecting the story to move away from it and focus on the living.

4 RepliesIn any of the dialogue that weve seen this seasom.. does savathun mention shell return osiris to us alive or just that shell return him to us? Which if its the second that is very vague & he could very well be dead. Ill have to run the ley line mission again i have one more to go on my warlock.

7 RepliesIf Saint and Osiris started a relationship, I wouldn't mind because it doesn't affect how I play the game. I always knew they were close, but I never would've guessed they'd have a relationship. I'm not the kind of person who would be bothered by that. It's kinda sad that people let something as simple as an LGBTQ relationship between two characters in a video game get under their skin.

1 ReplyI think we rescue Osiris(maybe a little scarred) at the end of the season. I also think Sagira is Savathûn’s personal ghost and we have to rescue her to stop her from reviving Savathûn.
