Hunters are intuitive, yes, but in turn their abilities have the lowest skill ceiling and usability ceiling. Their kit is easy to pick up and not hard to use but even at a high level it is not very game changing, especially in a team setting. Warlock and titan, on the other hand, are the hardest to learn and get used to however if you put the time in you get more effective abilities and are much more influential on the course of the game.

  • I main Titan and it’s egregious how stupid Hunters just jump over me while I have to position myself perfectly because their movement is the worst of the three classes

  • Read the other reply to Ben. It’s a fact that Titans and Warlocks minus Top Tree Dawn have worse movement than Hunters with Stompees

  • If this is happening consistently I really think it is poor positioning on your part. Hunter is the class I play the least and I have never had an issue with playing against them as a warlock or titan. the only annoying thing about playing against hunters is that if they use stompees they can jump AT you with very high velocity, but this is extremely predictable + easy to read on a radar, and by using stompees they are giving up dragons shadow with the handling buff which I think any decent player can agree is simply the better exotic now.

  • Nah I never said it’s an issue for me. It’s incredibly predictable and easy to counter, I’m saying while Hunters basically have free movement just jumping over others, Titans and Warlocks(excluding TTD) have to work harder for their movement

  • This is going to be long so im sorry I don't necessarily disagree with you, hunters definitely have a very free range of movement compared to other classes and it is pretty intuitive and easy to learn. The thing is I simply don't find it making enough of a difference to be something worth complaining about. I've always thought that hunters have good movement but they lack the utility of warlocks and titans, from the class abilities to the grenades to even just the neutral abilities and it makes them a lot less actually useful in a match. If I was playing a trials game and had to pick a teammate between the average hunter, I guess on spectral since it's probably the best hunter subclass, and a warlock on even an A/B tier subclsss like top stormcaller I would easily pick the warlock. The grenade is devastating if your team is coordinated and people do not know how to play against it, and the super is nothing spectacular but I still put it in top 5 supers in the game. Plus the warlock of course has a rift, which is not as strong now that 120s are nerfed (emp rift with a 120 used to be just outrageously strong) but healing rift is still easily the best class ability in a team based setting imo. The decision is even easier if the warlock was a chaos reach, for hopefully obvious reasons. With titans the decision is harder because they are worse than warlocks. I don't think they have a single very well rounded subclass, with a decent ability and a super that can guarantee a round win which I feel like hunters and warlocks both have. But, the titan wall I still feel like is definitely better than the dodge especially if you use citans, and they still have some outstanding passive abilities like intertia override, knockout, middle tree defender detonation, and all the stuff on behemoth. All in all I think hunters suit a more solo playstyle. They are good in modes like rumble and quickplay where you are farming uncoordinated and weak players and either literally dont or might as well not have teammates. They have movement that can be disorienting, and their abilities, like focused breathing, smokes, bottom arc dodge, throwing knife, and knock em down really only benefit you by yourself in strictly 1v1 situations. But I feel like they are held back in small team engagements, and those are more what I feel like balance should be designed around; they have very little to offer for a team or to counter against. The mode I play the most is rumble, I have over 3000 games played in rumble alone, and I still would rather use warlock and titan just because I feel like they have abilities that are better for controlling a lobby. Ball lightning and celestial fire are both a free win in a 1v1, solar and pulse grenades will HARD counter a rift or a titan wall or someone sitting in a corner, icarus dash lets you lock down the whole map and go from fight to fight effortlessly, knockout makes you absolutely unbeatable up close and when paired with frontal assault it lets you easily chain kills, sunbreaker is an EASY 3 or 4 kill super which is rare in rumble, chaos reach is at least 2 free kills per game and a hard counter to any roaming super.

  • Just commenting on that first paragraph real quick… while I agree that hunter grenades are not that good (either they are easy to use but do little damage or they do a lot of damage but are harder to use) the whole notion of that the other abilities aren’t as good as warlock and titan I just do not agree with, in terms of class abilities hunter has the most versatile and rewarding with just being able to - you guessed it - dodge out of the way at will, I can’t tell you how many times a hunter has just dodged and then used a shotgun to finish it off while I’m still sitting there confused (sitting there confused is not too realistic but it’s to make a point). And in terms of melee abilities they can disorient (like top and bottom tree arc along with void smoke bombs) or deal tons of damage with something like weighted knife dealing practically sniper damage (obviously it has a bit of arc midair but that’s besides the point) and explosive knife can be used to block off exits and entrances which limits other class mobility yet again. And take everythingI say with a grain of salt, I play warlock mainly but if I’m 1v1ing a friend I’ll play hunter a little so I’m not a experienced hunter player but even with me not being a hunter player I still do just as good if not better with hunter due to its ease. I’m not by any circumstance saying “oh hunter should just be steam rolled to make them useless” but I think making them even a little bit more skill oriented would help out a lot
