Question, what difficulty did you play on?
Second question, did you enjoy the Warthog run? :D
Your experience sounds absolutely solid. Many of the areas back then where designed similar, it's more noticable when you play on the old graphics.
The game is almost 20 years old so focus on things has been different. But I still find the gameplay is great and the graphics (for its time) too.

I tried normal difficulty, cause that sounded... normal. Is that the best way to go about it? Eh, the warthog run was too stressful and bumpy for my taste... Still, I got it down on the first-no-third-no-fourth try. Yeah, I was pretty bad... However, I did learn an important lesson about never listening to Cotana when she tells me to stop. Because she is trying to kill me. And I'm sure I wouldn't mind the level design as much if I played it more or grew up with it. Why, even The Library might be a fun level. *remembers* Nope, hate having to look at mushroom zombies too much.

Normal is certainly a good entry level for the first few runs. The game states that Heroic is the "real way" to play Halo, and I tend to agree with that. But you should know the game a little before trying Heroic. I was asking because there's also Legendary. And oh boy is Legendary fun. As in, you will get nightmares from Bazooka Flood fun. As in you will hate everything. But it's a big achievement to complete Legendary. You should try Halo 2 next. It improved immensely on the controls of weapons and vehicles. I think you will like it a lot.

Ah, guess I'll have to complete The Library on legendary is I ever wanna be a man. Or... Y'know, being a kid forever doesn't sound like a bad option... I tried the beginning of Halo 2's campaign and they had duel-wielding, so it can do nothing wrong. Also, Blur Studios is amazing. And I've seen the story which is amazing. It's all amazing. Amazing. But, I think I like playing with the classic graphics more in this one. Don't really know why... It's just easier on the eyes and the masterworked graphics didn't really improve too much-especially the weaponary.
