This is all PVP is and if a weapon comes along to counter a shot gun it gets nerfed. This is why Bungie sucks at PvP. They will not give a range nerf to a shot gun. What is this a bow can one shot you across the map. Seem they have no clue how weapons actually work.

say it with me w i t h e r h o a r d, just spam it everywhere and farm the shotgunners for their special and then spam it some more. most ppl are so dumb they don't even realise that's what your doing cos they're so obsessed with 'revenge killing' you the hatemail is great :)
-
I miss the invective that was a great shotty
-
I mean felwinters was brought back. Did you not expect the thing to be used constantly?
-
Did 2 crucible games today to get bounties done for the bright dust weekly. Both games had at least 2 sliding shotgun -blam!-. Shotguns are a pain in the ass.
-
Shotguns are annoying and could maybe use some tweaks but personally it’s the maps. If we had massive maps like Bastion and small ones like Gamblers Ruin, Bungie would have an easier time finding out what is OP imo. Shotguns, whilst annoying as **** are also the highest risk of weapon technically since you should’ve killed them before they got to you. Not saying they aren’t busted or needing of tweaks but all guns in D2 are based off of risk/reward mildly.

Edited by Kiro - 13: 5/5/2021 7:44:24 PMWell the meta before was "aim bot lite" beloved or broken ammo econ revoker. to be expected when the skill curve to use snipers goes up. Just bring back erentil fr4, it was never a problem in competitive formats. it just crushed casuals and week end warriors in 6v6 formats. You know thoes guys that watch an entire team get merc'd turning a corner and think "im gonna be different!" and of coarse hes not, then gets mowed down by the 30m range high impact fusion rifle. Back up plan was the sole problem on erentil fr4. shit was nutz back then

Edited by Spectra: 5/6/2021 12:50:08 PMI have an idea. What if instead of having the current primary, special and heavy system or the old double primary system, we had a mix of both? The way it would work is: - The player always has two primary weapons. - The player has acess to special weapons. - The player has acess to heavy weapons. - Heavy ammo works the same way it does now but only spawns once during a match. - Special ammo spawns from crates. There would be 3 creates in a map and would spawn 2 or 3 times during the match at different times. Each box would give 1 or 2 ammo depending on the weapon type and archetype (rapid fire shotguns would get 2 while agressive frame shotgun s would only get 1). When using a scavenger mod, it would increase the ammo that each crate gives by 1 and mods can't stack with each other in pvp. - The player loses heavy ammo when killed. - The player does not spawn with special ammo. - The player does not lose special ammo when killed.

It's always going to switch back and forth between shotguns and snipers, until Bungie finally realizes that the issue is really an over-abundance of special ammo.
-
Wait your telling me maps designed for 4v4 that are now 6v6 bc the community never stopped -blam!- caused all maps to be cramped as -blam!- resulting in the best options are close ranged weapons, crazy how that works isnt it?
-
Pvp will never be balanced. It’s a lost cause
-
You bottom fragged with your shotgun, So what’s the next excuse?
-
I say they drop Valhalla on us and let the chips fall where they may .He doesn’t have a license but my guardian sure as hell can drive a Warthog !
-
I don't find shotguns much of a problem or hard to counter, you just maintain something of a buffer zone when necessary. The issue I have with the whole shogun/120/stasis limbo we are currently in is it's very one dimensional and boring. Too many players just run the same loadout everyone else is running, without really considering trying other stuff that might actually fit their play style better.

Destiny PvP has been handcannon + shotgun like 90% of its existence. Do I think it's lame? Yes. That's why I don't play it (if I'm not forced to due to quest-challenge-bounty). Apart from that it's severely outdated as a whole. My advice is to play a different game for PvP experience should you desire it.
-
God, seeing all comments in here makes me realize how truly shitty crucible PvP is ....
-
If the shotguns are nerfed, you will come here and complain about the next meta special because your problems are movement and lack of positioning, not shotguns. If you come to terms with this and stop blaming the game, you can go to step 2 and start strategizing on how to counter them effectively.
-
boo hoo! just play pve for once and stop whining
-
Depends who you ask I use adored frequently and still manage to get hate mail from shotgunners 😁

Edited by neonsox42: 5/4/2021 6:58:02 PMMaybe a strong exotic sidearm would help...
-
Edited by DeathPony07: 5/4/2021 6:46:37 PMShotguns don't need a range nerf. They have the least range out of all FPS games. Better maps, and removing slide shotgunning would help dramatically.
-
Shotgun range is fine (except Felwinter's obviously since it encroaches on slugs). The real issues with PvP are as follows: -Stasis -Map Design -Matchmaking -Rewards
-
Still not as bad as felwinters lie meta in D1.

Edited by IAGNRG: 5/4/2021 1:06:23 PMSo I’ve made multiple posts about special ammo and it’s oversaturation and, while I still think this is the case, here’s what I think contributes to shotgun prevalency: -small maps -most engagements being capped at ~30 meters -one-shot capabilities -ease of use These reasons are the most common reasons to why shotguns are everywhere. It’s not that snipers suck or that fusions are bad either, they just take a lot more practice to be good with, whereas with shotguns, the average player will have a much easier time learning how to utilize them effectively. With that being said, I like fusions the most out of all pvp special weapons.
-
Oh COME ON, that's not right. It's all 1Shot-guns, Handscouts AND ability spamming too.
-
It's not just the guns. Shitty Map Design and broken special Ammo Economy do their part too.
-
If they can nerf or change shot package on felwinters I wouldn't mind. Or just make it a slug shotgun that way it at least takes a bit more skill.
