I get you. I think it's right to have Playlist specific rewards but for core items it wouldn't hurt to give short pvp and long pve progression tracks - as they did a few season's back. I also think that these requirements wouldn't be so bad if Bungie's pvp worked well and didn't have a cheater infestation - which has been steadily increasing season to season too. My advice is to give it a go - run in a group, play control, ignore your kdr and teabaggers - you'll likely be fine, though I get it if you don't enjoy it, I don't much either. No one is forcing you but nothing is stopping you either :)
