Design suggestions to postmaster system (to the item destroying part)
Dear Bungie,
I have a really simple suggestion for your current postmaster system. (the current system can't be a miss-feature, it was knowingly made to destroy items)
How about adding an option that dismantles X rarity loot automatically?
Or if that is too hard for the current system, an option to never send any blue and below rarity items to post master?
Or option to destroy blue-and-below gear pieces the way the system already does (if dismantling would turn out too hard to implement)?
Or let API calls dismantle items (so 3rd party tools can do it).
At the end of the day, yes it was my mistake that I did not F5 DIM every time I completed a strike. Still
this does not mean you need to keep the system this out-dated, fixing it seems pretty easy even without knowing how the system actually works.
While I have no idea how largely people are annoyed with the postmaster system (probably not too many since I can't find too much feedback about it), I can say that those who play a bit more than a hour a day will encounter this issue frequently, that is of course a different story how each of us resolves this at the moment (I know there are plenty of work-a-rounds for banking stuff you cannot bank).
So now I'm left only with one question that I really cannot come up with a good answer to. Why keep stressing your most time-invested players with this, when, at least to my eyes, the solution is a pretty simple one?
Ps. I promise I took a minute off the keyboard before writing this after my ascend shards where destroyed by the post master, but I confess that frustration was the reason to pop by. But I still love your game and I will be playing it for as long as the service runs.
