I think the bright dust gains are higher the more you play. Do all the seasonal challenges, season pass bright dust, and weekly vendor bright dust. There is pros and cons to this. The pros being you can obtain more bright dust in a season. The cons being that bright dust is drip fed until the season is coming to close and prevents people with less time to the opportunities to earn bright dust. Destiny is a game that wants you to commit time to it. That is just part of the live service model wether you love it or hate it. I'm unsure about the numbers though. Does anyone have the exact numbers on the bright dust differences from before and now?

  • Shadowkeep full time players: 40k a season, plus repeats for infinity but really only moon bounties worth it Casual: lucky to get 2-8k, punished for missing weeks Chosen fulltime players: 34k a season, plus infinite bounties pullable from orbit (crucible for instance) Casuals: 10k for beating the pass, 10k extra for doing seasonal challenges, all theoretically doable with long breaks since they stay after each week You decide what's more generous

  • I guess it depends on your perspective then. On one hand more casual people or people like me who want nothing to do with bounties ad nauseam are seeing better gains. People who would have done all bounties are getting less. At the same time there is less pressure to do weekly bounties every week. I guess for me its only a net positive and I can't really complain about that.

  • I like to think it's a net positive, too! And I would consider myself "full time." Lost out on weekly bounty gains but I make it up with the ritual bounty challenges, plus run tons of extra crucible bounties practicing my sniper aim. So nice pulling bounties from the app, man, it's sensational.

  • A lot of the bright dust they promised is from the season pass, which I left out f my math because randomly getting 200 bd isn’t easy to factor in. If not for the random 4000 bd from completing 75 weekly triumphs I think we’d be getting less than we normally would in a season

  • So what you mean is “well we can earn more than before now but i’m not counting these ones so actually it’s less” nice

  • That is a bit disengeous. There is a lot of players who will feel the effects of not being able to earn as much BD due to limited time.
