who do YOU think should be hunter vanguard?
let’s settle this, shall we? who do you think should take over as hunter vanguard?
i think it should be shiro-4.
1. he’s experienced
2. the vanguard would stay with one of each type: human, awoken, exo.
3. i read some shiro lore on the ishtar collective a few days ago and it said cayde was shiro’s mentor. it only makes sense for an apprentice to take over their mentor’s job, right?
4. i really wanna see him return and his character be fleshed out more. plus, he’s a bit on the serious side so... good for leadership probably!
5. the vanguard dare... i see it as a “jon snow” situation. meaning, uldren killed cayde but then we killed uldren. so technically, if uldren had claim to hunter vanguard, we took that claim away from him when we killed him.
like jon snow in game of thrones (and if you haven’t watched that show, spoilers!) he was part of the “night’s watch” which you could only get out of if you died. well, he got stabbed and died. then brought back to life. and when everyone was like “nooo jon don’t go!” he was like “hey, my watch has ended. cuz ya know, i died.”
it’s the same with crow imo. he died. he’s a new man. he no longer has claim to the hunter vanguard seat. plus, trading spider’s enforcer for hunter vanguard kinda feels like trading one prison for another. he now has his freedom, so he deserves to be free!

1 ReplyI think that Shiro is the best Hunter for the job at the moment but later on with more experience i think Crow could do well. He has inherit leadership skills and is very in touch with the light.

I think Eris is slightly better suited due to her intelligence, experiences, and wisdom, but she would reject it at least until the Hive/Taken are permanently dealt with. Teaching Stasis or other Darkness powers is something she'll likely be doing too, which directly contrasts with the Vanguard's beliefs. Shiro's an excellent candidate though, if he doesn't mind the responsibility.

8 RepliesHmm. Crow should become Vanguard at the end of the franchise after the Young Wolf dies in the final battle saving him. It would be very emotional and the Saint 14 Eulogy could play out before Crow is inducted and Osiris gives him the Ace of Spades telling him that the Young Wolf wanted him to have it if anything ever happened to them.

Not only was he Cayde's apprentice but is experienced and is well acquainted with Vanguard protocol. However, he probably doesn't want the job since he is presumably also avoiding the City like the other Hunters. 2: Ana Bray. The worst choice of the 3. While Ana is powerful and well known, her time is better spent with Rasputin and the Elsie. 3: The Crow. He does have the best claim, but is inexperienced and isn't trusted by most people (take a wild guess why). However, with our Guardian's backing (and most likely Saint's as well), most guardians would probably at least give him a chance. It's also worth mentioning that if the Crow can earn the trust of the Reef-born Awoken, he could possibly bring them and the City closer together. Honestly I'd be happy with either Shiro or Crow.

I would love shiro to be the hunter vanguard but there is some lore aspects with him being warden of the siva infested cosmodrome (making sure that no guardian enters) taking him out of the picture (i think at least). I bet on crow or ana bray, would favour the first

now that crow is a thing it's only a matter of time until the vanguard find out, probably kill him then force him to be vanguard hunter, but if he slips out of it, then Shiro would defiantly be my favorite to take the role.

Crow should and will be the Hunter Vanguard.

Marcus Ren should be the new vanguard. He's already well known in hunter lore and basically personifies what it mean to be a hunter. He is even named as a potential successor by Cayde.
