Eyes of Tomorrow drop rate is absurd

At an estimated 5% with zero increase with each completion, it leaves players' fates in the hands of RNG. I have 28 completions across 3 characters since week 1. At what point does this seem like a laughing joke.? Bungie, fix this. I would rather spend my time doing challenges on other raids or playing PVP. Players shouldn't have to invest that much time while others have had 7 drops in 20 completions.

  • 21 completions and no RL and almost every other run with a newbie they get it. Ain't life (irl AND gaming) amazing?

    These are the stat of my 2nd in charge of my clan, he and me sherpa countless people for raid since day 1 dsc, and he still havent has a single eyes. So yeah. bungie definitely got issue on the rng rate.   • Stats show 28 clear so far. Missing this rocket launcher to get the title. So annoying and there doesn’t seem to be a reason to drag out the drop so much. How many months without getting this makes sense? I understand cumulative increases to the drop chance are in play, but how many months is someone supposed to be gated from the achievement?

      • RNG is one thing (which sucks). but this is not RNG. its broken. one person gets it run 1, 2, AND 3. at 5% drop rate. give me a break. something is broken. form my experience the most useless person on the fireteam gets it the most. I have 20 clears i believe... and i think it dropped 2 maybe 3 times for anyone. Most of them were the least skilled and or lowest number of clears. Don't kid yourself, bungie is doing something beyond RNG, I am not even sure its not on purpose.

        • I you must want the title like me, because the weapon itself is crap anyhow. When a weapon shines the most in Gambit, you just know something is wrong with it.

          • Same, all characters cleared since week 1 and no launcher, some of my clan have had it twice. I'm not fussed about the launcher but I think the title being locked behind RNG is stupid, only reason I don't have the title!!!

          • I feel your pain man, my friend is in the same situation. I think the drop rate should remain the same, but the raid exotic should be guaranteed from a flawless run of the raid. I think that would be a fair balance.

          • 22 completions no exotic. 22 completions to finally get the last legendary item never had. I have seen 1 person get the exotic on the second completion & 1 person get the exotic twice in 2 completions.

          • I don't think it's all RNG either. I have clan mates who have gotten it 4-5 times already and others with 30 plus clears and nothing! It took me 34 clears to get the 1K from Last Wish while one clan mate got it on his first three clears ever! Three in a row dude! WTH? How many people do you know that only need gloves or a helmet to max out. They play every week to get every pinnacle drop and don't get it while you get them over and over. At the same time you need a bond or legs and can't get them to drop while your friends do. It's stupid and I'm telling you that's not RNG! Can't be!

          • I played through a few times and have most of the legendary weapons with rolls I like, but I am purposely waiting for Bungie to announce a drop rate increase before I bother. People were making assumptions that they did the same thing they had done with 1kV with the 10% increased to 50% chance with additional attempt but I didn't see anything anywhere that they had. I expect they did the same 5% drop rate they did for earlier raid exotics. Which means, at the max 27 completions this week that count there's a 74.97% of getting it. 10% of the players STILL won't have it after 45 tries, 15 straight weeks of raiding all three characters. That's over a season and in my opinion ridiculous. Everyone doing a very long, grindy quest for the same reward is one thing. One guy getting lucky week one and another guy getting "lucky" in week 20 is something completely different. Feel free to have your own opinion, but for me open ended RNG grind for the same exact item (farming god rolls is a different story) is not content. That is just creating a huge disparity in player experience.

              • It’s really quite stupid. 5% is 1 out of 20, so after 20 clears you should automatically get it! I hate the raid for just that reason, when I get to the last chest I’m saying F you Bungie. This raid has given me amazing sniper and shotty, all the weapons are great, can I just get the damned rocket already. I hate doing the raid because it hates me!

              • RNG has always been the worst part of this game for me. I saw another comment mention this, but its important to remember how much time it takes to do these clears rather than just looking at the number of clears. We only get 3 chances a week, so while 15 clears isn't a lot in terms of raiding, it does take 5 weeks. 5 weeks is way too long for something if another player can get carried through and earn it in 40 minutes. Heck, there are comments here saying they know people who've hopped in, done a single boss checkpoint, and gotten the drop. That probably takes 5-10 minutes, and its the biggest issue here. We're looking at one player getting it in 5-10 minutes, whereas other players will go for 5 months and still not have it. This was the story of D2Y2 for me. I ran Scourge 3x a week, for over 7 months, until I finally got Anarchy on my 88th clear. You can't imagine how many people I saw get it on their first or second clears during that time. That wasn't 'fun', the drop wasn't 'exciting' and the experience certainly wasn't enjoyable. I had to spend 7 months working to earn a weapon that was already 2 whole seasons old. Here we are again, 27 clears and 9 weeks into the grind, and is it fun? No, because I've been here before, and for all I know it'll take another 21 weeks (over 5 months) before I see the drop. The system is busted. As I said in a reply to someone else here: If you have an activity where one person can spend 6+ months doing it on three characters a week, and not get the reward, but another player can get carried through that activity in 40 minutes and receive that same reward, the system is broken.

                • It's frustrating, but it continues to bring guardians to the raid to attempt to get it. Let me share an example: Our leading DSC raider in our clan has 218 clears (he is ranked top 300 in the world). He doesn't have it. He realizes it's 3x max a week, but he is continually doing it help out our fellow clanmates get clears. The raid has continual playability because people want the gun (Sweet Lawd it's fun in Gambit). Guess what he doesn't even have 25 clears in? Garden. You know why? You get divinity via a quest, and you stop going in there. I am sure Bungie has analytics that supports my comment. RNG keeps folks doing raids. I'm not trying to upset you, but playability certainly factors in. I hope you get it! It took me 36 clears.

                    I'm all for Raid exotics being rng, but when everyone you play with gets it within the first 2-3 weeks, nobody wants to run the raid anymore and it's just not fun. Especially when you tie it to a Triumph. I hate when they tie RNG items to triumphs. You could literally play the game everyday for a year a never get some of the items to drop. Shoot, I never got the dreaming city sparrow to drop until a month before Season of Dawn. WTF Hell, I have 2 friends that have ran last Wish 3x a week every week since it came out and to thia day they're still missing some weapons and 1k.

                    I agree with you. I refuse to create 3 characters just run the raid 3 times for a 5%chance. Its a non stop hamster wheel to prolong game time. Titles should never be tied to anything RNG. Titles should and only be earned through doing challenges/content. RNG is not content. I have every raid challenge complete, and I can't receive the title due to some stupid RNG. Its quite pathetic that bungoe continues to do this. To any players in disagreement, ask yourself this. Would you prefer receiving a title tied to challenges/ difficult content, or through the 5% chance of receiving an exotic?

                  • Im sitting at 50 clears and still don't have it. I helped take a first timer thru on monday and he got eyes of tomorrow on his first try. This game is very good at disrespecting people's time
