Raid weapons should have something intrinsic that sets them apart from other weapons.

Tl;dr: I think reconstruction should have been an intrinsic perk of the raid weapons. Otherwise...making it a random rolled perk gives you that incredibly high chance to be using a weapon no different than anything you use or have used before. This is the gist of what I'm saying so if you don't care about what I wrote, then respond based off of this although these 2 sentences don't cover EVERYTHING I said. Long stuff: When you take a look at our new raid weapons you can see that they have a mix of the new open world perks and each one (besides the sword) has access to the perk reconstruction. My issue with this design is...is that when you DON'T have reconstruction on the weapon, besides look and feel, the weapons are basically the same as every other weapon you could find. What makes prosperity any different from trust besides look, perks and power cap? Nothing. What makes heritage different from any random legendary slug shotgun? Nothing. What makes commemoration different from hammerhead? Nothing. We are essentially just grinding for a shell. Just looking at our current d2 raid weapons...there is a SEVERE lack of individual character and power compared to what we had in destiny 1. Just using wrath of the machine as an example, every single weapon had an intrinsic perk where it did more damage to fallen and increased your agility for wielding it. This IMMEDIATELY set the raid weapons apart from every other normal legendary by them having an intrinsic bonus that no other weapon had (it wasn't anything substantial, but still). Each weapon also had a unique function like chaos dodgma's enhanced triple tap. Then we can look at crota's end where it intrinsically made all of their weapons do bonus damage to hive majors. But they ALSO had things like white nail on black hammer or lich bane on abyss defiant (which I don't remember being useful) and EACH individual weapon had something that made it different than the other raid weapons besides the type of weapon they are (like white nail or lich bane). There's so much character and intrinsic power put into the raid weapons of destiny 1 that the raid weapons in d2 just...look like SHIT in comparison. Visually of course they don't...ok the kings fall weapons are the single best looking raid weapons imho, but besides visually...d2 raid weapons are just higher power cap shells. Not EVERY single d1 raid weapon was top of the line...but at least they stood out from other normal weapons and even other raid weapons in some way. Now let me say what I would have liked them to do: Just make reconstruction an intrinsic perk of the raid weapons so that the only raid defining factor they have isn't just looks. This also opens that slot where reconstruction would sit for other perks and you could combine some of them to work tremendously well together (like a commemoration with surplus and rampage that can double it's magazine because it does so intrinsically, imagine that). THIS is a reward worthy of the title of endgame pve and I guarantee more people would be enticed to do the raid because the reward would be worth it. Now I know some of you are going to be like "but then you wouldn't have any reason to use other weapons because they are better," and all's I can say is...isn't that the point of raids, to create gear so sexy and powerful you want it for more than just collection purposes? If all's bungie ever does is continue to create crap that's no different than every other weapons BESIDES a single perk they randomly roll, then what are the chances I or other players are going to care enough to sink HOURS just trying to get our hands on them? Right now, not even the raid weapons I would say are so great that everyone should want them. They fill now barren slots because of sunsetting...but realistically they don't offer much more value, if any more value, than anything you can just find in the open world and honestly that's sad. Especially since 90% of those perks will just re-appear on other weapons ANYWAYS. The raid sword is a PRIME example of exactly what I'm talking about. It's literally just a shell. It's perks match the perks swords have had for a VERY long time and in no way surpasses any generic sword you can find just playing the game. It has no character in terms of perks and has power equal to swords over 2 years old so who's going to actively want this loot besides it looking good or for collecting purposes? With a now established method of retiring power, bungie should be less afraid of creating powerful gear, because what's the point of RETIRING POWER if it's just the same power time and time again? It's contradictory and stupid to create gear that's equal but retire it like their different. I hope my feedback comes off as...actual feedback over just pointless ranting because I want them to realize that I enjoy when they get creative and give us weapons and armor that truly create a power fantasy. Reconstruction is an excellent perk that although not the most creative...it's effective and powerful and gives the weapons their own spin on auto reloading that's not JUST auto reloading. But with it being a random rolled perk...I feel like it just makes the weapons a shell and NOT a unique weapon, as I stated above. I really like what I'm seeing with the new raid perks compared to what we had before in d2 and I want you guys at bungie to know I appreciate the stuff you guys create. But I expect great things equally as you guys have set a foundation for weapons and armor before that you just..stopped using. Let me know what you guys think.
