We pay premium prices for what is basicly a mobile game

We pay Bungie $40 for (almost) every expansion and $10 for a season and yet we still have a cash shop and a constant reskined content. If Bungie is making this much money and do things like that they are either incredibly lazy or incompetent.*edit I meant the monitization is like a mobile game

If you think you're playing a mobile game then you should just go all-out and go play
Gacha Impact
. You'll be slithering back soon enough after experiencing a real mobile game. At the very least you can ignore the Eververse in it's entirety and not even acknowledge that it exists. At the very least you can put D2 down at any time and not feel like you're missing out on anything because the game is only as valuable as you make it. It doesn't ascribe it's own important to you. I'm not defending Bungie or Eververse. It's not anywhere as bad as it could be and it has no direct impact on the game. It's telling however, as others have said, that they can fill the Eververse at least once a season but they cannot be bothered to give venders or even just 1 vendor a refresh with similar or even less work involved. But the longer they wait, they less impact it will have because people have been building up stockpiles in anticipation. Or they will be when they learn that a refresh is coming.
And bring back the factions. They were good vendors in D1 even if they mostly had weekly rotations of weapons/rolls. The Faction alignment with reputation and rankup rewards was a very good timesink.

Banshee being relegated to a quasi-token farm and bounty vendor is... I suppose it's fine. But it would be great if they brought back the Foundry weapons possibly on a weekly rotation where you can do specific bounties to roll for something from that week's rotation so that people who dump everything they have can still try for some.
But I have a feeling that's what the seasonal content for the next year is during/after Beyond Light drops. It's not a mobile game. And it's nowhere near as bad as it could be. Pushback is healthy and necessary. It's a shame that people have thrown caution to the wind and given credence to truly pathetic instances like Genshin Impact that are designed solely around draining your bank account with the facade of a game to lure people in. I at least trust Bungie to not even consider falling into the pit that future games will invariably be drawn to after such an "instance's" success off the foolish.

        • imagine buying a car and complaining about having to fuel it up regularly. imagine crying about having a car you bought, needing maintenance, that you have to also pay for. and yes, those parts you have to buy are the same thing you have now. imagine crying every time the maker of your car comes out with a newer version of your car. but no one really complains about buying a new $1,000 phone every year or two, but complains about a $10 expansion, not being worth it.

            • Let's not Forgot. Bungie bought ALL, All Content from Activision. You know the past 2 Years of Free To Play? Activision Content. You know most of these Everserse Skins? Started off as an Activision Idea. -- The Sunsetting? Is of Activision Material. Is of the Free to Play Content, in which made millions off "Free to Play," Nathan Fillion, the Original voice actor for our Ghost left around the same time, not accidental. Luke Smith wasn't the Head of Bungie when Destiny 1 came out, nor when Destiny 2 was proposed, have to ask what happened and why ? -- They have made hundreds of Millions, off Micro transactions, and the $10 Season Pass. And now to ensure the Hamster Grind, Sunsetting. And to ensure Luke Smith leaves his mark on the game..? Sunsetting all Content that can be Truthfully Stated as Developed, Bungie bought the Intellectual Property Rights Allowing them than "Sell them For Free". Please don't forget any of that.

40$ a year certainly do not cover all the costs of business with that number of employees. I mean look at WoW. Has an item shop as well, isn't free-to-play and you still pay for a yearly expansion on top of a monthly subscription. As a more or less external publisher-free studio, you have to cover a lot of costs here as well. Yes, there are deals with Net-Ease but according to the sources that money doesn't affect Destiny or it's development directly. It's not as easy as so many think. Also there a great articles in the web to read, what it takes to run a relatively big studio.

This is an example of The Fall of Man. A guy once said: "We have to be responsible for our actions and held accountable when we manipulate the expectations of gamers." Guess what?. . .Years later, the same guy who said that, also said this: "Throw your money at the screen!" LMFAO! For an effing Emote!!! That's how low the principle of man has become. That's the guy running this game now. You know what's worse?. . . The guy behind it and who put this guy to run this game! LMFAO! If you are wondering why the state of the game is a pile of dung. Look at the history. Bungie Logic!

                        • The thing is, if people didn't find value in it, then it wouldn't exist. That's the beauty of capitalism. The second someone figures out a way to do what Bungie does and does it better, then we'll have something to talk about, however every time someone tries to replicate their model they end up failing. The bottom line is that people love this franchise. They will pay for what they enjoy, and if or when the balance becomes a value proposition that consumers don't want, the game will go the way of Anthem.

                            •
There is NOTHING in Eververse that actually impacts game play, and EV is the means by which Bungie is able to give away so much of the game for FREE...
I'm tired of players trying to defend the shop. This 100% false and people that use this need to stop lying that it doesn't affect gameplay. It doesn't affect gameplay in terms of advantage but that is a weak at best argument to say it's ok that it does affect gameplay when it comes to the entire games loot system. For anyone to say that is okay, it's not, it's BS and this game doesn't need people that think that way. For example that it has effect gameplay.
There has been no proper update for any vendor in this entire game for 3 years that they were turned in to bounties place holder, useless vendors not ever being used for what they were actually created for. The dumbest thing I have ever seen in any game in my lifetime that has vendors. Actually, it's been 6 years since this company has not properly used them. They also straight out lied to our face saying the shop wasn't meant to be used as end-game content when they used Dawning to replace the lack of loot being added to the game. That is only 2 examples of how the shop has affected that gameplay out of the many I could list.

EV is the means by which Bungie is able to give away so much of the game for FREE...
Another thing used to defend the shop that is wrong in so many ways.
This is actually a huge controversy and putting certain words like free means absolutely nothing. It only shows another weak at best word being used to defend the company using the shop, and that is all the people that defend the shop have shown. See, players like this that defend this companies deliberate poor actions are literally the problem with this game. It's a known fact of why companies take advantage of their player base a lot more often nowadays versus back in the day when they were creating (quality type of games to make money,) not a shop to make money.
The controversy that I brought up? This company for 3 years made sure it was loud and clear that they didn't have the manpower or the money to properly update a lot of things in this game. 3 years of saying "we don't have the resources." So if they were struggling that bad, how were they able to give out so much content for free? Could it be that they were lying as usual knowing the 100 million they got from that new IP The 500 million that was said from Activision that was enough to create 5 full new games EV that is in both D1/D2 using EV as end-game content with seasonal events, etc... Their store ROI that is still to this day being sold full price Boost packs that are being sold at the price of an expansion And all the other means they use as "deals" The bundles they are able to sell for $400+ And now they have a deal with Microsoft. This company was never hurting for cash that they were able to easily buy Acvtivison out leaving themselves with less money to work with and studios to help create this game. So they need to stop lying that they are and start actually producing decent content as a triple a gaming company should nowadays. They had 6 years, enough is enough with the "poor Bungie" nonsense. https://www.reddit.com/r/DestinyTheGame/comments/e762gs/bungie_had_an_estimated_digital_revenue_of/?utm_source=BD&utm_medium=Search&utm_name=Bin

                              • The problem isn’t the prices in eververse, it’s that bungie waste countless hours putting so much sh*t in it. There’s like 40-60 ships for every season, it’s like 600 ships in the game rn. Yet we haven’t gotten a vendor refresh in 2 f*cking years. Is it laziness or incompetence, you literally can’t defend eververse at this point especially with how little attention the rest of the games been getting.

                              • I'd like to see a mobile game keep up a objectively good player size for 4 years, release a new expansion every year, adding brand new content each time, and manage both PVE and PVP gamemodes well. Their monetization system is far from "just re-skins" it's crazy how people write off creating ornaments and other cosmetics from code as a "re-skin". They make mistakes, but this game is definitely worth the $40 and $10 for the amount of content Bungie puts out.

                              • I know eververse isn't ur main point but it drives me crazy when people(in the comments)rail on eververse like its the problem with destiny, eververse sells COSMETICS nothing about cosmetics is game breaking, if you cant control your spending or cant use your mommies credit card thats not bungies fault. You will still have the exact same game experience if you spend $10,000 or $0 in eververse. What is bungies fault is the complete lack of content(as op said)and the ridiculous amount of reskins, not just weapons but content as well. It took them 3 weeks to bring the haunted forest rewards to 1050(not that they're worth it anyway, should've just left it alone)but let a nightfall be the slightest bit broken and they're on it in a minute. Its a absolute fact that they're taking away more than they're giving with beyond light and what they give will just be reskinned content but they still want $70 for it.....hey, heres a shitty pulse rifle from a D1 story we completely abandoned, thats worth at least $50 right?
