If you're still running the old content they're removing, it's either because you're stupidly obsessed with it (i saw a dude in tower the other day with SIX. THOUSAND. CLEARS. On spire of stars. And he had his emblem tracking it. Disgusting.), still don't have everything you want from it (only really applies to the new and the extremely unlucky), or you are just helping new players (in which case you don't NEED it anymore). In all cases, one rule applies: you are playing old, outdated content that the majority of players aren't. It's not going to kill the game to get rid of the old crap, most people either aren't running it or have no real reason to run it. It won't matter. Sunsetting happened in D1, and it turned out to be EXACTLY what the game needed. "But muh weapons! Muh armor! I put so much effort in to getting them!" So do something else with your life. Jesus. It's a video game. Nothing matters in it. Nothing is permanent in it. When you play something like Breath of the Wild or Dark Souls, do you exclusively run the stuff you start the game with? No. Unless you're doing a challenge run, you are ALWAYS investing in new tools. Upgrading, changing gear, etc. Why should Destiny be any different? Change is good, because it prevents stagnation. D1 had sunsetting and it went great. D2 will be no different. So you put like, $240 into the game. And? You're not entitled to anything other than what you paid for, and you paid for a Bungie game. What that means is this: you get a Bungie game. It's not YOUR game. You didn't create it, so you get no say in its future. And before you say "if we paid, we're entitled to sway the future of the game", tell me how many other games do that. Dark Souls never did. No legend of zelda game has. None of the infamous or uncharted games, or any need for speed or mortal kombat games. VERY VERY VERY few games allow their players to decide their future, and even when they do it's very small decisions like "what theme should the next dlc follow", not "what will be included in the next dlc". Or it'll be "what kind of extra cosmetics do you want to see?", not "design some cosmetics and we'll put them in!". Why should d2 be any different? So you paid. Big deal. You're not entitled to change things the way Bungie shareholders are, and you aren't entitled to tell bungie what to do or how to do it. Bungie is a multi-million or billion dollar company, run by very wealthy individuals and managed by people who can buy and sell you, your house, your land, and your family at a hundred times their net worth without feeling a financial DENT, while you're just some man, woman, child, manchild, womanchild, or old codger that thinks you're entitled to the same benefits as shareholders and directors all because you spent $240 on them over the course of like 3 years. You're a teeny, tiny little individual PIXEL on their bottom line. Stop acting like they owe you anything beyond the game you're playing. And a reward for dedication? Seriously? Do you realize how entitled and spoiled that sounds? "I've played this game soooo much, so when you get rid of everything, be sure to give ME, and players like ME, something extra that new players can't get, because we play a lot". How about just... playing the game as a GAME and not taking it so seriously? Are you a child? Do you not have a job? A life outside the game? Cause that's what it sounds like. The level of entitlement in this sounds extremely juvenile. God, why are so many of you so damn spoiled?

  • I'm just curious as to where bungle keeps all you dafties when they don't need the forums patrolled? Only seem to see these hyper argumentative accounts when there's an expansion to be sold and gripes to be shut down. Anyway, I'll be off elsewhere not giving bungle anymore money.

  • I see where you're coming from. It's a suggestion, one I do not expect to work or to really have it happen. I know it sounds entitled, it is in that area. I agree it is childish and doesn't matter in any sense. I am for the idea, but not expecting it. In no sense do I expect them to even recognize it. I made this more so on discussion, albeit the childish want is something I do wish. Again, I admit to the entitlement of the very idea. I understand how large the company is and that I am insignificant. Bungie will do what they want. I accept that. But I will say what I say and do what I do. Doesn't matter in the grand scheme. Anyways, your thoughts are welcomed. Thank you for your take on it. Also, it's good to call entitlement out. Some need the wake up call like I. Truth is the best thing you can offer. Thanks.
