Dry grass crunches underfoot as Luck's presence finds its way to the twisted manor. His halloween co--witchunter's attire is covered in stakes, poultices and silver. The heavy trench coat may have once been brown, but it has washed gray long ago.
Running a hand along his chin, Luck looks over the camp--or what's left of it.
Chain 5
The spiders don't seem to notice as you pass through the knee deep waters. You can see webbed cocoons throughout the room in various sizes, with a spider creating another one that appears to be a very large rat. You notice a few webs crossing the canal up ahead.
-
Luck catches himself holding his breath as he steps through the vast nest. He approaches the canal, glancing about it to gauge its depth.
-
The waters are about knee deep, and crystal clear for what it's worth!
-
may or may not have forgotten to respond
Luck trudges through the waters, the last foot or so of his coat floating up next to his knees.
-
Your hand brushes against a thread of web along the side and two spiders skitter towards you
-
Stilling himself, Luck slowly draws his hands over the surface of the water, covering it in flickering soulfire.
-
Would that create light aswel?
-
yep.
-
The spiders recoil from the light, hissing and blocking their faces with their front legs! Something else hisses from above, louder and deeper... You're about halfway through the chamber at this point.
-
Glancing up, Luck quickens his pace through the water. He doesn’t want to be in the target zone when whatever that is drops down.
-
Sloshing through the waters, you look up to see a massive spider. A white streak pattern across its sleek blue carapace faintly glows with magic as it descends from a thread of web and shrieks! Other spiders throughout the room start to crawl down the walls aswell, answering the brood mothers call.
-
Luck stops completely and begins frantically searching through his coat, grabbing at several alchemical items and mixing them together, shaking in a circular motion very couple of steps. If these spiders prove venomous, he needs an anti-venom should anything go wrong.
-
The broodmother crawls closer, but stops before the flames. Three of the smaller ones skitter towards you, one shooting a string of web at you arm!
-
Luck sweeps his hand through the flame, letting it coat his arm, and holds the burning appendage forward to intercept the attack. With his other hand, he adds another layer of fiery protections against the looming monster.
-
The fire travels along the web and the spider drops it to flee! The other two flinch away and the broodmother shrieks, then her body shimmers and vanishes from sight!
-
Luck takes one step back at the sudden disappearance, allowing himself a steadying breath. He then closes his eyes, opening his senses in all directions, waiting for the anticipated strike.
-
Reaching out with your senses you... don't feel it on this plane anymore... Most of them seem frightened by the flames and are scurrying away, with only a small handful remaining. Two more shoot webs at you and another rushes forward to do a bite
-
Expecting some kind of sneak attack, he already has the magic to conjure silver ready at his fingertips, so he cuts at the webs with two tiny yet razor-sharp blades. As the other moves to bite, he surfaces his own forehead in the metal and headbutts the creature with as much force as he can muster.
-
The webs are cut and the slider explodes blue blood as you headbutt it! The broodmother suddenly appears and bites into your shoulder! (If you're susceptible to venom, it would feel cold as it slowly passes through your body, and you'd feel numb and stiff. Essentially a debuff!)
-
The venom is fortunately purged as it attempts to travel farther through his bloodstream, but Luck feels the bitten area immediately go cold and limp. Whipping around, he charges the silver shard in his hand with enough soul energy to make it glow white-hot and literally murmur with power, as well as make his arm go numb. Tossing it to the other hand, he lunges for the spider’s great wicked eyes.
hopefully that works for treatment of the venom
-
The venom is purged and you stab into one of the broodmother eyes! It shrieks again and backs away, and the children do the same for fear of flame and pain!
-
Luck holds a beacon of flame in one hand to keep the spiders at bay and continues his hurried trek through the cavern.
-
You make it to the tunnel entrance without any more resistance. Traversing through dark empty caverns and twisting tunnels full of rubble, you eventually emerge onto the black sand beaches of a vast underground sea. A great stone bridge reaches out to a strange, circular structure off it's coast, all alit by torches with violet flames. The waters have risen just high enough to lap over the structures.
And I'm going to continue this last part in a final public event later on!
-
Chain 4
Darkness takes you... ...and then there is light! Emerging from the mansion, you see clear blue skies and the sun rising above the distant city. Taking in your surroundings you find yourself on a cliffside courtyard of cobblestone paths and Elven statues with vines and moss creeping across them. Oddly, there is a fountain with flowing water and gardens full of colorful flowers and insects. The temperature is actually pleasant despite the altitude. And yet a chill wind rushes past and you swear you hear a faint whisper. Facing the source, you see a stone entrance built into the side of the mountain...
-
Luck says a few choice words and taps his thumb against the stone in his pocket. After taking a good moment to run a hand through his hair and curse whatever maniacal enchanter that‘s -blam!-ing with him so wickedly, he proceeds to the next door.
