Sotha Holmes shall walk forward towards the entrance. Before he enters he places a open faced helmet upon his head. The helmet is a shining brass color adorned with a large clockwork crown made of three long metal prongs. He then places a mask upon his face which attaches to the helm. The mask is carved in the snarling visage of a god and a large chin like design extends from it. The eyes of the mask are large many lensed goggles which almost make his glowing red eyes appear to split in many directions like those of a bug. His grey pointed ears extend from under the helm as slots are cut out for them.
After all this was a costume party and who doesn’t love a mask.
His robes flow dramatically as he walks and the clicking of mechanical armor underneath can be heard. The wizard looks around cautiously. Observing all he can.
I wish I could get a better description. I tried drawing the mask but as we can see from the picture, or more lack of picture, I am not a artist.

Chain 7
"We..." "...don't..." "... remember..." The zombies seem sad. "We do not serve the Faceless One."
-
“Oh. Well perhaps I could help you remember. Although this may be a trick from this faceless one. Either way the name is....Warlock something. Holmes! I think. How can I assist your.....memory problem?” his voice fades of as he comes to a realization... “Did this faceless one eat your memories?”
-
"We don't remember."
-
“Should have expected that. Is there anything you do remember?”
-
"The tome! We want it!" "They want it too." "And the dreamer, deep below, wants to wake up."
-
“Do you remember why you want it?”
-
"To learn!" "New knowledge!" "But not like them." One of the zombies points to a shelf on the second floor.
-
I will look up towards where the zombie is pointing. “Well perhaps I shall retrieve this book. For you or myself. Do you know any way for me to avoid this faceless one?”
-
"No." "It is everywhere!" "...but we are too..."
-
“Could you help me fight it then? Or at least delay it?”
-
"Yes!" "When the time comes."
-
“I see. Although how can I trust you to not betray me? How can I trust that your not a trick? Plus who would answer those questions honestly.”
-
The zombies back away and the brambles blocking the halls recede.
-
I rub my ass on your mask and flowing robes
Chain 6
No hidden compartments, but you do find a single empty slot between two fake books attached to the shelf itself. The titles are actually enchantments, inactive.
-
First I will change the goggles on my mask yet again and cast detect magic again. This time so I can better investigate the nature of these books and there deactivated enchantment.
If necessary I shall roll a arcana check. My arcana is quite high though. 15.
-
I'm actually not sure what school of magic this would fall under, but essentially it is a magic lock and the books are the keys.
-
Hmmm. Could I potentially somehow figure out how to use the books to open the lock? You said they where attacked but I shall gently try to take them off the shelf just in case it activates something.
-
I'm not quite sure what you mean, like trying to magically hack the lock to open it instead of using the books themselves?
-
Ok I phrased that poorly. I just want to attempt to figure out how to use the books as a key. Investigate the magic to learn how to use them.
-
Ah, that's easy! You simply slide the books into place where they belong, as the creature said. You are currently before a shelf of comedic books.
-
Well than that is exactly what I shall do. I slide the books and then move on to the next shelf to potentially slide more books.
-
Actually, give me an investigation check real quick, as you were examining the shelf and the books.
-
Investigation! Another one of my strengths! Why can these not use strength? I don’t like rolling extremely high. That being said I rolled a unnatural 20.
-
In this case you actually needed to roll high to discover something else odd about this particular shelf. Hidden within the wood is a straight thin space in the center of the shelf. It follows below the false books out a foot to either side, then travels up two more false books to the shelf above. Pushing the shelf, you can feel it budge slightly. There is a hidden compartment here!
