This looks like a cash grab and doesn't at the same time. I think Harry Potter doesn't have a good video game system (It's too simplistic) so they might have to change something, or make the combat simple. KoTOR simple, or maybe an elder scrolls kind of magic more simplified. One question I do have if it's an elder scrolls is, how would you switch between all of the spell? How would spells like the levitation spell and the spell that brings stuff to you work? Maybe I'm not thinking about this in a creative way, but I don't see the magic system in Harry Potter being able to transfer to a video game.

  • Are Kotor and the Elder Scrolls games the only role playing games you've played? Off the top of my head I can think of a few ways to do combat: key binding, circle menus, d pad to scroll through lists. Things done in Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Dark Souls, Elder Scrolls Online, and such. As for magic itself... nah man, the universe has a lot of variety to spice things up. They can go the skill line route with different schools of magic or whatnot that you can learn and master over time. Damage spells, tanky spells, support spells, gimmicky spells, and then things like Charisma, animal handling, crafting and brewing, knowledge.

  • No, I've played Dragon Age and Dark souls, I've also played all the Fallout games even 1 and 2. Elder Scrolls and Kotor are really the only ones that I've gotten into. I apparently played the one of the worst Dragon Age games so that's probably why I haven't played any other. I guess the skill tree would work.

  • I kinda get Fallen Order vibes from the trailer though. It might have more simplistic combat with a few basic abilities that you can upgrade and modify as you progress, with most of the roleplay elements being in how you interact with the world around you.
