Ugh, it looks hideous. I'd rather have any of the Vanguard sets from D1 than that monstrosity. Honestly, aside from one or 2 sets, most of the Vanguard armor sets in D1 weren't that bad. I kinda miss the Apex Harmonic and Unity Clad sets for the Warlock, and the Sanction Six and Fear Eater sets for the Hunter, from House of Wolves.
This, however, is just a downright lazy and low effort armor design. We've waited 2+ for them to finally give us a vendor refresh for the Vanguard and Crucible armor, and this is what they came up with? I hope they're gonna make some nice ornaments to go with it, because I don't think anyone will really bother with trying to get this armor, aside from a small percentage of players.
What the hell happened to the art direction in this game? Where are all the good concept artists? Why not hire some from the community, or hold some sort of community contest for new armor set ideas?

As much as I hate to admit it, it does look like they’re purposefully making the armor style underwhelming so that you’re more inclined to buy armor ornaments from eververse. They know exactly what we want, that we want our characters to look cool and powerful and not so dang cartoon-ish, and for us to feel like we’re good at the game. Maybe this is just these three armor sets, like the black sheep of the expansion and we’ll get some really cool other stuff in Beyond Light. Titans don’t need shoulder pads the size of the freaking traveler, warlocks don’t need ugly bulbous helmets or LITERALLY just robes as their “armor”, and to be honest I feel like hunters have gotten a lot of love with their armor styling, and as a hunter main I appreciate that, but I can’t help but notice just how cruddy the natural in game stuff looks like for the other classes. Like they don’t look like cool fantasy-solider wielders of light, they look like cartoon characters. Nobody wants that. Again, I’m hoping this isn’t the case, because I want to give Bungie more credit than that, but it just doesn’t look good.

And you know what? Maybe they’re bringing in some really awesome stuff to replace what’s being sun-set. They don’t have to tell us everything, and honestly, it’d be a fantastic surprise to be proved completely wrong, and have awesome, incredible looking content dropped on us come November
