Beyond Light Pre-Order/Cross Save Inquiry

Good Morning, I hope this post finds everyone well amidst the global pandemic. I'd like to start with a brief mention of how much I appreciate the availability of a forum to post an inquiry. Thank you. I am posting today with a question about pre-ordering Beyond Light. I had planned to purchase Beyond Light for PC this week (pay day!) in anticipation of the November 10 release date. Coincidentally and innocuously, I made the mistake of unlinking my primary D2 account from my Steam account (my characters originated on PS4). It was late at night, I was tired, and I thought it would be a great idea to finally uncouple my PS4 from the gaming equation since I just bought a new PC which has been great. Destiny 2 on PC is the best gaming experience I've had in my video game life (if you have a console and have considered getting a PC, D2 will not disappoint and in fact is an even better experience than the excellent experience on console). I originally enacted Cross Save at the end of 2019, if memory serves. I did not remember Cross Save did not actually move my characters from one system to another, but instead allowed my Steam account to read my progress from my PS4 characters. Due to my negligence to check the FAQs before unlinking, I now have 87 days to wait until I can re-link my PS4 characters to my Steam Account. Here is my inquiry: If I were to pre-order Beyond Light for PC this week, would I have to purchase the expansion again when I'm able to re-link my PS4 characters to my Steam account? I do not understand where the purchase will be linked. Is it linked to my Bungie account, my Steam account, or my original PS4 account? I feel this post would be rendered unnecessary if there was an appeal system for unlinking cross save due to a player's idiocy (yes, I am the idiot in this case) if it could be proved there was no malicious intent or action taken by the player who unlinked his accounts. My ultimate goal was to have Steam be my only Destiny 2 option in the companion app for when I'm using LFG, so I thought unlinking the PS4 would achieve that goal. Yes, I made a mistake, but is a 90 day window necessary if the only "Malfeasance" was my tiredness and subsequent faulty reasoning? Thank you for taking time to read this. Sincerely, King Idiot

  • Even if you had never accidentally unlinked your accounts you would still have to pay for both platforms. DLC don't transfer, never have, never will. Whatever platform you purchased this dlc for is where it will stay.
