The last couple of seasons he's been kissing Bungie's ass. He also doesn't like sbmm because it's "too sweaty". I mean, in sbmm you could lay back and relax and within a few games you'll be downgraded into a lower bracket, but that's not really the issue, is it? The issue is they want those easy games so they can look cool and get subscribers. The truth is he's good enough to hang with any bracket... he's just getting tired of trying and he doesn't care if the majority of players suffer so he can have fun. But no, sunsetting in no way balances anything except eventually Trials and IB once op weapons get sunsetted. Regular pvp will still always be dominated by Bygones and Mountaintop. Considering the new weapons are every bit as op as the old, I'm not sure how anyone believes it's for balance.

  • Bygones? You mean gnawing hungers? Summoners? Suros? Forward paths? I haven't seen a single bygones since this lame auto rifle meta started. Mountain top wouldn't even be an issue if they just reverted to how destiny 1 handled special weapons. Drop the ammo from a box and make special weapons feel actually special, rather than respawn with it and run ammo scavenger :/

  • It's mathematically impossible for for most players to suffer with cbmm.

  • I mean if you want to be at the top the games should be sweaty.

  • Did you seriously just suggest people "de-rank" just to get a solid game "Oh you want to relax? Ok, just do bad on purpose, the game will give you relaxing games in about an hour"

  • The way you make it sound does not encourage improvement at all.

  • Hes absolutely correct to dislike sbmm, it was killing the game for a long time and never should have been implemented to begin with

  • Killing the game more than being mercied for 5 games in a row? I'm not saying that either situation is perfect, but I did enjoy PvP more before they made the change to CBMM. Keep in mind that I'm probably average to below-average at PvP.

How often were you "mercied 5 games in a row?" I've examined a ton of players recent games who made claims of matching nothing but stacked teams of the like and not one has been accurate, they match fellow gold or silvers, lose by a handful and immediately scream "Top tier players"

  • Only once, so it is a slight exaggeration. But it has seemed quite a bit harder to win games. Also going off of my buddy's experience. Losing many games in a row, despite him sweating his balls off. I don't think it is so much that I'm going against top-tier players, but more so that no matter how I play, we will still lose. Sometimes I get lucky and have one or two goodish players and we can eke out a W. To say that SBMM was killing the game, or even just PvP, is a massive overstatement. I don't think CBMM is actually killing PvP, but it certainly makes it less enjoyable.

  •
To say that SBMM was killing the game, or even just PvP, is a massive overstatement.
I dont think it is at all, when casual players get bored of pve some rotate into pvp but most go play other games - it's the higher tier that mostly go into pvp during content draughts and sbmm had them playing mlg tourneys in what's supposed to be casual modes so they get exhausted after 3 games and go play something else, so we were bleeding out casuals and then bleeding out higher tiers as well leading to us hemorrhaging players

  • While many, many streamers/YouTube creators continue to deny this point, I can’t help but still believe this is true.
