Maybe the word is incentivizing (not forcing). Looks like Bungie *really* wants a larger player pool for their endgame pvp. Guess they’ll keep trying. I mainly avoid it since I’m seriously bad but admit pvp is a world of difference from shooting really stupid AI bots in pve. Now, Last of Us pvp game had some seriously gruesome animations & people gloat over your dead body. Scary.

So many players quit this game years ago and are never coming back, and nobody out there is selling their friends on how amazing D2 is. The numbers will bump up in November and then die again but Trials will never again be a thing.
